The Billboard
CKY gained a lot of attention for their connections to the MTV stunt show Jackass: drummer Jess Margera is the brother of Jackass's Bam Margera, and the band's music often provided the soundtrack to the show's stunts. Unfortunately the stigma of being "that Jackass band" never wore off for some listeners, who never took the band as seriously as they deserved to be taken.

CKY formed in 1998 and have released four albums to date: Volume 1, Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild, An Answer Can Be Found and this year's Carver City. There was also the EP Disengage The Simulator and the half-joke-song/half-prank-call album Volume 2, but these are exceptionally difficult to find. Any CKY fan will tell you that the album albums are the best place to start anyways.

CKY has been hitting some turbulence lately, and rumors state that the band has broken up (cancelling at least one major gig), and then reunited to make Carver City. They did not speak for an entire year during the breakup. However their Myspace page describes the group members as "four exceedingly different and distinct personalities" that have come together to make "heated, inspired music", and implies that they've worked through their differences, at least for the time being. And thank God. Check this album out.
