Since its inception in February of 2009, Former Thieves has managed to put in more legwork in just over a year than many bands do in their careers. Between self-releasing ( and subsequently selling out of ) the critically acclaimed EP, “The Great And The Alleged Great,” sharing the stage with peers such as Touche Amore and Native, and tackling a grinding coast to coast touring regimen, the Iowa quartet has proven that it's certainly doing something right. With a unique sound that has been described as, “Botch meets Modern Life Is War,” the newest addition to the ever-growing No Sleep family will be continuing its unbending DIY agenda well into the future. This summer will find Former Thieves embarking on seven plus weeks of touring, as well as writing and recording for its No Sleep debut. If you're looking for an original band with sincerity and angst dripping from every note, look no further; Former Thieves will prove itself to be one of the greats in a genre that has needed a breath of fresh air for a long time.
