This Is A Standoff

Taking the road less travelled, and avoiding the tired tirade of bandwagon jumping, This is a Standoff bring back punk rock sincerity with melodic vocals and killer licks.

After the demise of one of Canada's hardest working punk bands, Belvedere, Steve and Graham were set on starting a new project and getting back on the road. After assembling the band from opposite sides of the country, the guys gathered in Calgary, Alberta to write songs for their first album.

In November 2006, the band released two demo songs through their MySpace page, and released an overwhelming response from listeners worldwide. The following April, This Is A Standoff hit the road, with a month long tour in Europe, to give people a taste of the new band.

Their highly anticipated debut album, Be Excited, hits stores October 9, and is currently available for pre-order through the band's website. The release will be followed by Canadian touring in October and November, and a trip back to Europe this coming March.
