A Letter To You - Aimless
Everyone can remember a time in their life when a letter affected them deeply. Maybe it was their tenth birthday, when they awoke one morning to find a card from their grandmother with 10 dollars inside. Maybe it was the smell of the roses from the foot of a hospital bed, with a simple note attached reading get well soon. Or maybe it was a year after a loved one left for war, when a soldier in uniform handed over a solemn letter of earnest gratitude and regret for their loss. From vast human experience expanding over dozens of different modes of communication, its clear that a sincerely heartfelt letter can have a resounding impact in a person’s life.
Vocalist/Guitarist Drew Irwin, drummer Evan Rudman, guitarist Dillon Gorden, bassist Trevor Bell, and pianist Jay Saper keep it at the forefront of their minds to respect the honesty and warmth that their name suggests. In writing their upcoming release, Aimless, set to be released on November 10th of this year, the band made it a priority to achieve and maintain emotional transparency both lyrically and musically. “Aimless is certainly a step in a new direction for us sonically,” Irwin remarked. “We wrote these songs at a very confusing time in our lives. It’s our first year out of high school, and we’re all beginning to feel a little lost as to the direction we’re heading in.” Added Bell, “Throughout all the chaos of a transition to college and adult life, I think making these songs and expressing our worries really helped us keep our sanity.”
Featuring tracks produced by Ace Enders, formerly of The Early November, as well as Mike Govaere, formerly of Every Avenue, Aimless is a far more mature and emotional disc than A Letter To You’s previous release. It will be available on November 10th via mail order (alettertoyou.com) and iTunes download. |
