Chromeo released one of my favorite albums of this year with their latest, White Women. Today they released their new music video for "Old 45's" featuring cameos from the ladies of Haim and Jon Heder of Napolean Dynamite fame. Head to the replies to check it out, and definitely stream the new album if you haven't yet.
We arenít kids anymore. We have wives, kids, house payments- real life shit. Every member of this band has questioned how much longer they can do this. Weíve left our families for months at a time, sometimes coming home with what would equate to minimum wage. Or less. Weíve spent the last 5 years clinging to that last bastion of hope that we would have that hit song that would connect at radio or become a viral sensation and catapult us back up the mountain. Weíve had our fingers crossed for years, (so have the wives), that each next tour or album would be the answers to all of our prayers. It didnít exactly work out that...
Out October 7 via Animal Style Records is Wolves At Bayís latest EP, When Iím Dead, and you can stream the release in its entirety in the replies. The band lists Thursday as an influence, and I think thatís a fair comparison ó they also take cues from the gruff vocal stylings of acts like Hot Water Music and Polar Bear Club, and generally walk the familiar ground of fiery, loud, intense music written by angry, angsty young people. Itís a cool EP, and you can preorder it digitally here and on cassette here.
Nominee are releasing their debut EP called I Woke Up on October 14th. Hit the replies to hear a brand new song off it called "Without You In Front of Me." Frontman Chris Mclelland previously played guitar for I Call Fives, and this sound leans toward the pop-punk realm as well. The guitars and vocals are nice and loud. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order the EP, produced by Joseph Milligan and mixed by Paul Leavitt.

Come Wind have been working on a few new songs recently. We are premiering a live recording of a new one called "Not This." The live version has a different sound than their past material, learning more toward the softer side of bands like Manchester Orchestra. Give it a listen in the replies. The band has two more singles they will release later this year - one of which will be on their forthcoming album in 2015.
Here are the albums that are in stores today. Pick up anything good? What do you recommend? If we missed anything, please add it to our calendar. We recommend Rdio or Spotify for album streams of new releases and check out our review section to see what our staff thought of the albums.

The end result: Urban Outfitters is like Avis, and has to try harder. A Billboard analysis shows that Amazon is the largest seller of vinyl in the U.S., with about 12.3% market share, followed by Urban Outfitters with 8.1% market share. Rounding out the top five retail accounts selling vinyl, the next-largest is Hastings Entertainment with 2.8% of the market; Hot Topic with 2.4%; and Trans World Entertainment with 2.2%....

The artist is a human being, not a product. Sure, the artist makes products that are for sale, but the artist is not forever in your debt because you may have purchased a product from them at some point. When you buy an album from me, I receive money and you get music. Itís a fair and even exchange that begins and ends once I receive my money and you receive your product. If I donít value myself as an artist ó especially working in a market that has decided that recorded music is not worth spending money on ó then who will?
