I'm looking for some tenured users that are interested in helping with AP.net --- mostly from a content position (interviewing bands, setting up and posting exclusives, working with labels/managers to set up contests) and things of that nature. Interested? Convince me and other staff in the replies .... we'll check it out in a few weeks and see if there are any users we should bring into the family, help train, and get you out there bringing in sweet content.

PS: It'll help if you include some info about your favorite bands so we know the stuff you'll be covering.

I founded (by myself) and run a NJ music website/blog that receives over 100,000 unique visitors a month (TheNJUnderground.com). I personally have covered over 100 live shows in the past year ranging from concerts at huge arena's to basement shows. I've set up contests with production companys/promoters, interviewed several artists and I post updates everyday. I also have several internships in the industry under my belt and have been an AP.net member since January 2004. You can email me at TheNJUnderground@gmail.com

Favorite Artists: Brand New, Something Corporate, Alkaline Trio, Say Anything, Bright Eyes, Weezer, The Gaslight Anthem, Jimmy Eat World, Thursday, Thrice, Weatherbox, etc.

I wrote for Jesusfreakhideout.com for 5 years, and then I started my own blog and have run that for a couple years. Overall I have written CD reviews for over 7 years. My own blog is located at: throughwindows.wordpress.com

I used to only cover Christian music, but now I cover pretty much anything. Some of my favorite music as of lately: I Am Abomination, The Dead Weather, Muse, August Burns Red, and Broken Bells. I love discovering new and upcoming bands as well as following the careers of established groups.

I go to a small music college in Memphis, Tennessee called Visible School, and I just finished my second year in the Music Business department. I enjoy writing and doing PR, along with marketing and merchandising. I feel like I could be a huge asset to AP.net based on the things I have mentioned. I've been a member since 2008, but checked the website for two years on a regular basis before that.

Hey guys,

I'm always looking for new projects like this. I think I can offer what you're looking for. Aside from my decade of involvement in the music industry as a touring musician and on the business side, I've also got experience writing content and reviews for other music websites, and other music related texts I've written are currently being used as teaching aids in related courses at Rutgers University.

I have a large swatch of connections in the music industry and I know about music and press from all sides. Currently I'm curating a popular thread in the "musicians forum" of AP.net called "Ask Me Anything About the Music Industry."

http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1451942

I love bands like Band of Horses, The National, Cut Copy, Daft Punk, Tesla Boy, House of Fools, Bloc Party, Gaslight Anthem, Friendly Fires, etc.

I just noticed that three of the four responses right now are from NJ dudes. We're all awesome. Give all of us the job!

Less than a month ago, i started my own webiste/blog (www.mixtapemedication.com) that has gotten well over 1,000 views so far (not bad in my opinion for the short amount of time) I have interviewed Of Mice & Men, Vincent Bennett of the Acacia Strain and Luis Dubuc aka The Secret Handshake. I am about to interview Mitch Lucker of Suicide Silence, Nic Newsham of Gatsbys American Dream and Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail, Sleeping with Sirens, Attack Attack!, Four Letter Lie, Sleep Serapis Sleep, Texas In July and In Fear and Faith. I attend shows in the San Diego area as much as possible. I have been a member since December of 2006. My email address is william.darcangelo@gmail.com

I've been a member of the site for several years now (member since early '07 under this user name, Dec. '06 under a different one) and know a lot of the users here, and while I don't have a lot of experience with interviewing bands (only casually speaking with them), I'm a quick learner and I have excellent grammar skills.

I have a pretty diverse taste in music, and some of my favorite bands/artists include John Mayer, Brandtson, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Punchline, Mute Math, Incubus, Coheed and Cambria, GlassJaw, and Broken Social Scene. I'm on this site every day, so staying on task shouldn't be hard. This is the kind of work I'd love to do in the real world, so you can bet that I'll put everything I've got into the job. I've loved writing a few reviews for this site as well, since it felt like I was contributing something.

I have a few ideas for the site I'd like to help out with, mostly things like giving more to the musicians of the site by interviewing bands about the instruments/recording equipment they used to get certain sounds on their albums that musicians might want to replicate, or giving more insight on the lyrics for an album (like The Swellers did with Ups and Downsizing).

Even if I don't get the position, thanks for taking the time to consider me anyway.

I am Cassie Whitt, a journalism student at Ohio University. I am going for my degree in online journalism with a specialization in media management and music.

In am an experienced music writer, having done everything from interviews, live reviews, album reviews and feature-length articles for years now. (Clips of my work can be found on my blog in the sidebar under "Features").

I have worked with online publishing and various input systems. The majority of my current writing is for ACRN.Com, Ohio University's All Campus Radio Network. There I am the Blogs Editor and a Staff Writer. I have gotten a plethora of experience working with artists, labels and publicists in the editorial department.

In addition to my involvement in the editorial department, I am also involved in the music department, in which we review albums for airplay, and in the PR/Promo department. As a member of the promo department, I work to brainstorm fundraising means for the station, which are usually in the form of live shows we sponsor. Members of the department assist our promo director, who works mostly as a booking agent. I have a say in the promo materials we will distribute for shows and help set up at the venues. As current PR assistant for the station, I work primarily using social media to draw community support and awareness to us.

As an online journalism student, I understand online formatting, online ethics, the unique and helpful way the online format creates interaction, the importance of multimedia and of posting content that is attention-holding for the transitory nature of online browsing.

As a writer, I am passionate. I understand the importance of the fans in music, and love to be able to provide them a voice and a link to the artists they love. A lot of music journalism today is based on search engine optimization and on giving focus to all things "hip" while being a snarky douchebag about everything else. I think that's bullshit. In my career as a writer, I hope to bring the passion back into music writing.

Favorite bands include: My Chemical Romance, Alkaline Trio, Taking Back Sunday, The Bouncing Souls, Against Me!, etc...

I hope that what I have learned as a journalism student could help contribute positively to AP.net! Though I've only lurked in the past, I can guarantee that I would fully dedicate myself to the site if I were chosen.

Thank you for your time! Can't wait to see who you choose!

i will say that it can only help your chances if you are very active as a poster/news submitter than someone who has a bunch of experience that will jet in a month or two. The longer you've stuck around already, the better. We need people for the long haul.

I'd definitely be interested- I've done a handful of internships now- two of which were done with labels (Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar/Dead Oceans, and Sargent House/Refused TV).. I'm stationed out west, now in LA (North Hollywood to be specific) and love music. I'm trying to get involved with a label or concert promotions company, and am constantly doing what I can to network. I'm buds with some of the bands we see posts on here for, too (Gwen Stacy, Continuance, the Method to my Medium, the Ready Set, most of the guys involved within the Crossroads of America label...)... And I've submitted more than my fair-share of news stories to the site that have been posted, too.

My current favorite (active) bands include Dear & the Headlights, Kevin Devine, Thrice, blink 182, Valencia, Foxy Shazam, Motion City Soundtrack, Mad Caddies, Rodeo Ruby Love, Good Luck, and plenty more. I listen to something in pretty much every genre, outside of techno/dance and grind-core.. It'd be rad to be more involved with AP, and to have the opportunity to work with you, and with artists I love in a more active way.

Sometimes I think the titles of articles are funny, and though I don't think Daisy is very good, I sometimes listen to old Brand New. I also have a coffee mug that keeps liquids hot for 8 hours, so it's easy to stay up late into the night writing. Though the "b" key sticks sometimes on my keyboard, I can still type one if I have to by using a little force, so using the letter "b" is anything but a problem for me. I have a bachelor's degree in film that doesn't qualify me to do anything but is still kind of cool. The Radio Dept, The Hold Steady, and Surfer Blood are my awesome bands today. I have 4 possible wi-fi networks in my area that aren't password protected aside from my own, so pending a disaster of curious proportions in my area (maybe the biggest electrical storm ever), I'll always have internet. I'm also probably going to buy a dog soon. E-mail me at LukeKingma@gmail.com. Cheers.

I have not been on this site for too long (only 9 months, but I did visit occasionally for a couple years before that) but I visit many times every single day and am online almost all day every week day. I have had experience working with examiner.com in interviewing bands such as Strung Out and Carridale and have reviewed many shows and albums. I go to a lot of concerts in Utah and love to check out and talk with new bands on a daily basis.

Like most people on here, I like a little bit of almost everything. But the bands that I listen to the most frequently are Strung Out, No Use For A Name, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Pennywise, The Offspring, and Rufio. I grew up in the 90s and love the punk bands from that era, but also enjoy newer bands.

I'd love to be more involved in AP.net, I've been looking for something similar to this that I could get involved with in this way. My email is stoddart.jon@gmail.com.

I don't have any experience interviewing bands but I'm sure I would be able to come up with ways to keep interviews interesting and informative. I'm on this site all the time and I respect all of it's staffers, been apart of it since 2007 (2005-2006 I was just lurking it). But yeah, I'm on here all the time so I figure why not do work for it too? I think I could handle it well. I'm into all kinds of bands and genres, ranging from Fear Before to Taking Back Sunday to Between the Buried and Me to Brand New to New Found Glory to Thursday to La Dispute. All I bands I love are listed in my profile so just peep that to see all the bands I listen to. I enjoy doing album reviews as well. I'd be a good fit to the AP.net staff and would be down for helping out with anything. I'm not really doing anyting with my life at the moment so I would appreciate getting to do this a whole lot, haha.

I don't have much to offer as far as having connections in the music industry or interviewing bands but I think the passion I have for music and the amount of detail I put into everyday tasks will hopefully win you over. I work from home and listen to music about 7-8 hours a day, posting my thoughts on my blog and Twitter page about virtually every aspect of every album and song that I feel people need to go and listen to. I know music can change peoples lives so I know the power it has and how important it is to get it out there. I see this site as a hub of great and invaluable information that I want to help extend to anyone and everyone that hasn't already heard of it. I'm not good at picking favorites, this is going to be hard.

Say Anything
Third Eye Blind
DCFC
Fall Out Boy
Manchester Orchestra
The Format (Fun. record is revolutionary.)
Relient K
Morrisey
Tegan & Sara
Underoath

That's All I have for now, What I'm currently stuck on right now varies but The Wonder Years are on repeat for me. I can't believe I'm listening to them for the first time this month but they are fucking awesome.

Here are some links to my tumblr blog (fairly new), Twitter page for anything else you'd like to know and my Email so you can hopefully contact me.
