Personally, my favourite movie of all time is the John Hughes classic The Breakfast Club. One of my favourite songs of all time is 'Don't You Forget About Me' by Simple Minds. Who can forget that fantastic closing scene of Breakfast Club: John Bender punching the air in triumph and Simple Minds' "hey hey hey hey!" ringing in the backround.

I think one thing that can make or break a movie is the music. Even if the acting is shit and the story line could be better, how many times have you walked out of a theatre saying "crap movie. Great music" and having the theme song stuck in your head for days? I've done that countless times.

For me personally, music is extremely important in a movie. It adds so much to the emotion. My favorite would be all the soundtrack work Explosions in the Sky did for Friday Night Lights. It just fit so perfectly.
