I'd post this as a review but it came out months ago.
Has anyone listened to this Gotye album Making Mirrors? Like really sat down and listened to it? Holy hell it's amazing. Now granted we're all familiar with the ubiquitous worldwide smash "Somebody I Used to Know," but my word, there are so many other potential singles and quality first-rate songs on here. "Easy Way Out," is splashy and danceable, "Eyes Wide Open," has surefire single written all over it, with its huge chorus, driving guitars and epic narrative; "Save Me," is equally as strong as the prior two. After doing some research, I'm surprised at how mixed reactions he is getting.
I guess when you take such an indie guy like Gotye and make him mainstream, the mainstream audience was bound to react strangely. They aren't familiar with such strangeness as Gotye.
