Taking Back Sunday - New Again Review
Taking Back Sunday - New Again Review
08/24/09 at 01:10 PM by Noah Fawkes
The review is officially up:

http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1258392

Thanks for the approval, ap.net staff!

EDIT: It appears my review is one of the most commented ever in the user category. Besides the usual suspects saying that the record sucks, I'm actually surprised how a lot of people that I never have seen on the website saying that they liked the review. It feels really good having a voice among so many people only saying the same things all the time.

My favorite party just may be the quoted lyrics in this being so laughably bad.

Wow - long review. You obviously enjoy this album and I think you really thought hard about why that is. Keep on reviewing because you really pay attention to the songs.

I liked this. It is a little too wordy and the lyrics you choose to quote in the review are sometimes incorrect imo of what you're trying to convey.

But all around good. Don't let the ap hate get to you. Hah

too long for me to even consider reading. i listened to the record once and was so insanely bored that i can't imagine how this review could be worth reading.

Well, the reasonning for my RIYL is that all recordsl have "after break up" themes in some level or another - with some The Movielife's This Time Next Year for good measure. What they've accomplished with New Again - at least in my eyes - were to write a record from the perspective of the person that had to take the harder decisions. And that's not something you see oftenly among the bands in our little scene. And that's one of the many reasons that I think this record is so unique. Maybe they will play with the song structures again in the future, but with this record, well, it was good enough. Hell, it's one of the best records of the year to me.

And I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

In my eyes every kid enjoying All Time Low, BrokenCYDE and The Millionaires should be banned out of the internet and get some jailtime for having an awful music taste, but all we have are opinions, milady.

Comparing "I Lost The Will To Fight" with "Everything Must Go", both being epic ending tracks with an energy I feel being somewhat simmilar seems completely reasonable to me.

Everything is grace after all. We only can agree on disagree.
