Can't Keep Up #5
Can't Keep Up #5

Can't Keep Up is a weekly article/not-an-article about what it's like to be a music fan in this weird era (and by weird I mean, "ewww.") You may disagree with the stupidity and bad grammar, but you can't deny the fact that NONE of us ever have any idea what is really going on out there. We're officially a Fortnight old!!

Can't Keep Up #5: Another Death in the Family.

As the leaves once again change to the beautiful reds and reddishes of Autumn, my mind naturally drifts to the gentle upheavals of this slightly spooky time of year. I think about, as I said if you were paying attention you MUSKOX, the leaves. Also boobs are bound to pop up - especially if your girlfriend or the girl you stalk got a...[read more]

I feel like every week I read this, I become a dumber and more awful person. But I enjoy it, so keep it up, Blake.

And if "Hot Light, Tight Lycra" doesn't become a hit soon, I just might never listen to music again.

Keep writing this every week or whatever, but also do the following:

1) I get the feeling you do this blog because you think you're funny. You are. Seriously. But you're not writing enough. Everytime something that you think is funny pops into your head, write it down. Do this every day, and don't second guess yourself. If you thought it was funny for even just a second, it's worth writing down.

2) At the end (or beginning) of every week, write your blog. Then, send me everything else that you wrote down during the week in a Word document. I will read it, edit as necessary, and return it to you within 24 hours.

3) Read my revisions. Make further revisions, and send to me again.

4) I will read and proofread, and return to you within 24 hours. At this point, you should memorize everything in that Word document.

5) Find an open-mic night at a comedy club, coffee shop, Def Comedy Jam, or something of the sort. Sign up, and when they call your name/introduce you, get on that stage and recite the Word document from memory. Pause for laughs as necessary.

You don't even have to pay me to help you with this. Chew on it, let me know if you're game.
