Relient K with House Of Heroes, William Beckett, Hellogoodbye
House Of Blues in Dallas, TX on August 8th, 2012

Check out my photos from the concert here

Relient Ks Mmhmm was just about all my 10-year-old self listened to back in 2004. My neighbor had it in his stereo, and we played it on repeat for days on end. Five years later, Forget And Not Slow Down defined my sophomore year of high school, being probably my top played record in 2009. Now, each of those records holds a special place in my heart for various reasons, making me ecstatic to final see Relient K live...[read more]

You nailed it. This was one of the best shows I've been to over all. Great openers playing good sets, and then Relient K was absolutely amazing as always.
And I'm very jealous of the set you saw, sounds even better than the one I got with Beckett playing About A Girl and the guest vocalists for Relient K.

If anyone wants to, my thoughts on the Portland stop of this tour here: http://wp.me/p2wegb-4r

Every single one of them had their own distinct feel-I think thisll be one of the most varied RK records yet. And thats a good thing, it sounds like they may have taken the best aspects of their last 3 albums and made something unique and amazing. Very excited for it--now I just have to wait for release details.

Did Hellogoodbye play two new songs as well when you saw the show?

seriously, such an incredible show. got to hang out with the HoH boys for most of the night, ran into Bryce from Rocket Summer too. Doesn't get much better than that, especially after four incredible acts of music. Easily one of the best tour line ups I've been to in years. Last tour I can remember being THIS good was maybe Emery and Gatsbys, or Acceptance and TREOS. AHHHH oh yeah.

unless I wasn't paying attention very well, I only caught one new Hellogoodbye song. But the one I'm referring to, where nearly every guitarist put down their guitar to play some synth, was possibly the best Hellogoodbye song I've ever heard.

agreed, definitely think the new songs sound super solid. and if i remember correctly (and I could be wrong), I believe this album was done with Paul Moak, who produced Cold Hard Want

Good grief you make me feel old. Mmhmm was my the soundtrack to my senior year in high school. Good review. I'm very surprised House of Heroes opened and not William Beckett. I figured HoH would play right before Relient K even, given they've released three awesome albums in the last 6 years and Hellogoodbye has put out only one in the last few years.

That sounds right--I also think they were doing some work with Aaron Sprinkle. I have very high hopes for this album, but Im pretty sure they can still meet or surpass them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're working with Sprinkle for some - if not all? - of it

I vote Hellogoodbye as best performers last night in Tulsa. The two new songs are pretty incredible, and their last album is full of pop goodness.

I was at the Dallas stop of this show too. I thought hellogoodbye stole the show. The auto-tuned 'Here in your arms' was great and the new stuff sounds just amazing,

So bummed that this tour was only on the West Coast. I may head up to Liberty's block part to see HoH and RK, though
