First Impressions: Go Radio - Close The Distance
First Impressions: Go Radio - Close The Distance

After having Close The Distance for a week, I can already say this is the record Jason Lancaster was born to write.

This time, Go Radio take a more pop-rock route than gritty pop-punk - and it's the perfect direction for them. The songs exhibit Lancaster's ability to manipulate melodies and choruses in order to truly pack a punch. To accomplish this, song structure allows each song to build and grow into a chorus, making Close The Distance the most dynamic collection of songs Lancaster has written. Each song being penned in a way that builds anticipation for the hook. This is exactly how pop-rock music should be done - take notes.

Reading this has got me hyped again for this release whilst I didn't enjoy Lucky Street that much I'm a huge fan of Jason's and I thought the EP prior to the album was fantastic. Out of the two songs released so far I wasn't a fan of Collide but I loved Go To Hell.

Well, I'm excited for this. From what I've heard, this really will be the album to get the ex-Mayday Parade title completely away from Jason.

I'd love to see some tour/collaboration between Go Radio and The Rocket Summer, that seems like it'd be a perfect fit.

Fuck yeah I knew it was gonna be good. Been waiting for this for a while now.

What's your favorite song?!

Edit: Also does it have any songs like Kill the Beast or are they all pretty mid tempo ish. It seems like they will be like that. I don't mind, but I do love their "rockers"

This makes me excited for the release. I was more of a fan of the Do Evers EP than Lucky Street because it felt like one big song to me. But after reading this I am pretty stoked for Sept. 18th now, thanks Ryan!

Damn, stoked to see it's none that we've heard yet and also that the title tracks up in there.

Would you say it's better than Lucky Street? I personally loved Lucky Street.

Haha sorry about all the questions. They're just one of my current favorite bands and I'm super hyped for this record.
