This is a great article. I have so much respect for Max, as both a musician and a person. It seems like a lot of people will listen to any of the post-is a real boy albums and say that his passion is gone, that everything he writes now is forced and the music has changed too much, but I strongly disagree with all of that. Is A Real Boy is an untouchable album, and no other band out there could ever come close to replicating it simply because of the circumstances it was written under. Because of this, Say Anything will never create an album that's as similar to it as some fans would like. But I don't think that means fans should dismiss everything the band puts out now because of that - if you don't like it you don't like it, but at least give it a chance. Say Anything may be going in a different direction with their music now, but in my opinion they've never strayed too far from the path they began to pave with ...Is A Real Boy.
