Just out of reach
While fingers claw
At nothing but air
Impossible to stop
The sky from caving
Forced to face
The harsh truth that
Day has become
A myth to the blind
Deceiving its victims
To simply pass time
Desperate for dawn
No sign is apparent
Hope now expired
Suffocation takes hold
It’s at that moment
The dead will all raise
But until then
