|The new New Found Glory is an interesting album. It sounds a lot like their Self-Titled album, a more raw production with straight to the point - in your face - pop-punk. If anything, it reminds me of when I first listened to Less Than Jake's GNVFLA album. It's an album that is a "return to form" from a band I loved in high-school, basically sounding like it would have if released when I was in high-school. So it's a strange feeling - it's very nostalgic, but at the same time I definitely enjoy the album. I would recommend it to any pop-punk fan - especially a NFG fan. There's no reason it shouldn't be in your collection.|
My only complaints are on my copy the sound is low. I have to crank my CD player 5 to 10 points higher on my stereo to get the same volume level as my other music. I don't know if that's just a weird thing with the CD, or that I am just used to very loud NFG.
Fans of the band's Self-Titled album should love this release. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of their later releases (it sounds even more raw to me than FTSTYS2) - and is straight forward, raw, pop-punk. And the truth is they still do it better than almost every one else. I think "47" is my favorite song - the verse and pre-chorus melody is awesome. Expect all kinds of love for this album around the website - it's NFG - it's me - that's just how it goes.
