wow, i cant believe its been an entire year since i last updated this measly excuse for a blog. and how retarded my last couple entries were haha. hopefully eloquence will come across more in this than the juvenile ramblings of a kid wanting to be in love like the last one.
that isnt important.
what is important however, is your mission for the day: shoot a stranger a smile.
on your way to work, on your walk to your first class for the day, while filling up your car, or standing in the checkout line of the grocery store, just smile at someone. see what happens. when that person happens to smile back at you, tell me if that doesnt just make you feel something inside thats wholly indescribable.
little things like this can completely turn around not only your day, but the day of the random person you happened to touch with such a random, minute, yet completely meaningful act. its immeasurable.
i like to think, that the next closest you can get to that feeling is when you hear a song from your favorite band, something that you can completely relate to, maybe even feel that the singer was literally singing to you and not for you. it can put you in a place where certain little negative things really just dont even matter and seem to flee. you listen, and for that short amount of time, maybe even just for three and a half minutes, you are in your own self contained metaphorical heaven. that security in knowing that no one can take that feeling away from you, or tell you how to enjoy it, is much like setting someone free.
with a single smile to a perfect stranger, you could be setting them free, for maybe just a minute from their own personal prison, and give them that light they just failed to recognize was there the whole time. you can be that person, and the best part is, it doesnt take much to be the helping hand. its a simple as a smile.
well enough of this rambling from another amateur writer haha. ill post again soon though. ive got a lot floating around this ole noggin of mine these days.
but dont forget todays mission: smile at someone.
on a side note: if youre in a reading mood, i highly suggest starting the dark tower series from stephen king. its not like his typical horror style of writing so dont go all judgmental on me for it haha. if you are looking for some good reading material and even a somewhat philosophical escape, give these a try. i think you will be very interested in the world he has created. there are seven books in total, so youll be busy for while, but they read fairly quick, so dont let that dissuade you.
