So I had the privilege of seeing these guys yesterday at the Pike Room in Pontiac, Michigan.
And it was, hands down, one of the most fun times I’ve had at a show.
It was a little bit sad that not that many people were there to watch them. There was about 10 people there but that made it a bit more awesome and intimate. Even better because I was able to drag my chair up in front and my friend sat on the floor Indian-style.
They played a couple new songs and even did “Castling” acoustic. Charlie is a fucking beast at drums. True story.
The one thing I would like to get across to anyone planning on seeing them is that you should go up and talk to them. I know most bands are like “OMG! COme say hi to us at shows” and they’re actual dicks. But these guys were so sincere and awesome. Ending up chatting with Suzie and Jesse at the bar for a while.
Now Suzie, holy shit! One big ball of cuteness. Always had a smile on her face and was dancing nonstop for hours. And thanks to a hint from Jesse, if you bug her about it, she’ll let you listen to some demos from the new album on her iPhone. They’re pretty fucking good.
So much fun. They really need to come back soon. | |
