:::Albums:::

John Moreland & The Black Gold Band - Things I Can't Control

We played with these guys in OK and they were simply amazing. I just came across my CD a few days ago and can't quit listening to it. Stephen Egerton played drums on this album and recorded it. Check it out!

Taylor Swift - Speak Now

I've seen this on a lot of year end lists. Probably because it is awesome. I sat in my hotel room in Bangor, Maine on a day off and listened to this album at least three times. It's pretty Incredible.

Arthur - Watch the Years Crawl By

These songs are just really good. I think I may have heard some old versions of these songs recently on a late night drive so when I heard this I was pretty excited.

Gaslight Anthem - American Slang

I really dig this album. Gaslight always seems to give off some sort of nostalgic vibe for me. And I mean that in a good way.

Stephen Egerton - The Seven Degrees of Stephen Egerton

Great songs with a great selection of singers.

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor

If I recall correctly this is a concept album about the civil war right? What more can you ask for? I mean "Cause ramps like us baby we were born to die!"

Shooter Jennings - Black Ribbons

Way different than any of his previous albums but it was also a different band. Really great record the songs have a lot ambience to them and are even kind of psychedelic at times.

John Mellencamp - No Better than This

The way this album recorded is just awesome. On top of that it was recorded in some pretty historic places and T Bone Burnett produced it. I got a friend who hates Mellencamp to check this out and he loved it. It's just a really solid Folk album.

Eminem - Recovery

Aside from maybe three songs this is a great album. But with 17 tracks you can afford to have a couple duds.

Damien Jurado - Saint Bartlett

You know I just recently got a chance to hear this album. There are some really sad songs here. You can really feel his pain. Great record!

Jimmy Eat World - Invented

This is a good album. I really like the song "Movielike". And the Female backup vocals on this album are a really good touch.

The Weakerthans - Live at the Burton Cummings Theatre

I Love this band "Reconstruction Site" is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's great from beginning to end. They do the songs so well live. Amazing band!

Frank Turner - Rock & Roll EP

I really like everything this guy does. It's that simple.

:::Songs:::

Follow the Sun - Bedouin Soundclash

This song is really good. I can't get in to the rest of the album but I dig this.

Nothin' On You - B.o.B. w/ Bruno Mars

I would probably have to say this is a guilty pleasure. Bruno Mars can sing though.

Just the way you are - Bruno Mars

Another guilty pleasure. It hold's a special place in my heart.

:::Albums I discovered this year:::

Polar Bear Club - Chasing Hamburg

This may be my new favorite band. The title from this record is where it is at. Can't wait to see them next year on Soundwave.

Austin Lucas - Somebody Loves You

This guy has a really unique voice a little country twang in it. He is from Indiana it doesn't get much better than that.
