|So I went to see the Mark Rose & Empires tour this past weekend. Of course it didn't dissapoint me in the least. For my date (Hammond, IN) there was roughly 15 people. I was aggravated because Mark Rose deserves way more credit than he gets. Not only did he pen some amazing songs in Spitalfield, but his new solo blues stuff is absolutely incredible. I still have a hard time getting over how talented he is. I think if his music was given to the right music executive here or there, he'd be on the path of being able to record CD's on a label with John Mayer. Him and Mayer display a lot of similar traits, and I mean that in a very good way, they're both fantastic musicians.|
The second band to play that night was a band called Dear Noel. I've seen them once before, but at that time it was a one man acoustic band, my how times have changed. They are now a full 6 piece band and they brought the dance party with them. They put on an energetic, emotionally charged show, and gave it 110%. They did all of this even when they knew there were only 10-15 people watching. I have so much respect for bands who bring everything to the table, every time, no excuses. I picked up their EP afterwards and I'm convinced they've got the makings to do excellent things.
check both of these out:
They're playing a few dates with Hit The Lights soon, this should get them some good exposure!
