No recs this week, sorry. I don't really have anything to recommend.
It's official - I am now a 25 year old. Halfway to 30. And I still have plenty of growing up to do! Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday - truly, it means a lot to me.
'Twas a good weekend. Low-key but fun - and I didn't have to work on the busiest weekend of the year in my town. Spent it with my girlfriend and our friend from back home, who came to visit for two days. Didn't do a whole hell of a lot, but I find it's more fun when you can just kick it, go out and eat, maybe hang at the bars ... nothing too big or anything.
I also had my first experience with Rock Band. I'd actually never seen anyone play it or played it myself until this weekend. Gotta say, I love the song selection and while I am terrible at drums ... I can do a fairly decent job at singing. I'm getting better the more I play and will hopefully be able to go right from medium to expert in no time. I'm too cocky, aren't I?
The best thing about this weekend has simply been spending time at home, just resting from the chaos and insanity of the flurry of people overcrowding the town at the moment. My girlfriend is actually at the rodeo with a friend now, and while it would be fun to go, I had to take time to get some things done here - I'm behind in my workload.
One last thing - I do have a recommendation: as a big Adam Carolla fan, I suggest you check out his comedy, The Hammer, loosely based on his own experiences. If you enjoy his radio show or work from Loveline, there's no reason you won't enjoy this nice movie.
Good to know college football has started - lots of ass-kickings went on yesterday. Considering it's the opening game, I can't be too surprised, but regardless ... the Huskies (my hometown team) got their asses handed to them by the hated Ducks. BYU next week ... I expect another loss if Locker doesn't get his head together.
