2. Hawthorne Heights: "Skeletons"
3. Valencia: "Dancing With A Ghost"
4. Funeral For a Friend: "The Young and Defenceless"
5. Senses Fail: "The Fire"
6. To Be Juliet's Secret: "Dear Heart"

8. A Day To Remember: "What Seperates Me From You"

10. The Graduate: "Only Every Time"
I would like to mention that I found some good albums from 2009 that I only listened to in 2010. Such as

| | Ode to 2009 |
Very good year for music in my opinion, much better than 2008. Here are the top ten albums for 2009 (basically based on how much I enjoyed them)
10. Chevelle - Sci-Fi Crimes
9. Cartel - Cycles
8. Blue October - Approaching Normal
7. New Found Glory - Not Without A Fight
6. 30 Seconds to Mars - This Is War
5. Silversun Pickups - Swoon
4. Set Your Goals - This Will Be The Death of Us
3. Say Anything - Say Anything
2. A Day To Remember - Homesick
1. Emery - In Shallow Seas We Sail
Honorable Mentions
Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing
Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted
These are three albums I didn't listen to very often, but I should have:
Imogen Heap - Ellipse
Mute Math - Armistice
Sherwood - QU
The only EP that i truly listened to follows:
Death Cab For Cutie - The Open Door
Also, the only cover album that i listened to follows:
Four Year Strong - Explains it All | | Tags: AOTY, 2009 |

| | First Cd Review! |
Ya i know that I could write this in the review section, but i'm not spending too much time on this, and maybe if I think it is a good review, ill submit it.
Emery - While Broken Hearts Prevail... [EP]

This Ep brings back old memories of Emery with a tad bit of what they were trying to accomplish with I'm Only A Man. There is a significantly less screaming than The Question, yet there are still parts that are still filled with energy and spunk. There is definitely screaming on this album, but not as much.
The first three songs on the EP are very upbeat and make you feel like rocking out. They are easy to sing-a-long with while still being emotionally strong. The fourth song, Ten Talents, is a great song that starts slows and builds up very nicely. It ends very strongly with verses that very lyrics that exemplify the message that Emery likes to give.
The last two songs on the cd are slower, but they bring back good memories from the slower songs from The Question and The Weak's End.
Overall I would say that this is one of the better records that Emery has put out. If you are like me, once i learn the song, i can't stop singing along with it. If you are like that, then this record is your record. It has very moving lyrics that are articulated well and doesn't stop being fresh. This was my album of the year for 2008 so thats it how highly I rank this. The only problem is that it's an EP and not a LP, but I still give it 10 out of 10.
Vocals 10
Musicianship 10
Lyrics 10
Production 10
Creativity 9.5
Lasting Value 10
Overall 10
*note* Yes this is very bias, i think i haven almost listened to this everyday since its release
**note** Future ones hopefully wont be | |
