True Stories I Made Up
"Look At The Mess I've Made"
09/14/08 at 11:06 PM by Trevor Sostarich
I spill words from my glass
like nobody else can understand
the songs that I play aloud
and all the thoughts that race through my head
I only write true stories
but they're all about fictional events
that I make up when alone
and I'm fighting with my eyes to go to bed

so I sing louder than anyone in a crowded room
while I sneak glances at girls that are in my view
sluts wanting to fuck the next poet they meet
but I won't give them a mentionable opportunity

Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess I've made?

I break my neck for better words
as I fuck up everything I have going for me
I snap back into place
changing my dreams into my reality
lips locked and legs tight
no, you're not impressing me at all
if you're clothed on my bed
well then there is something terribly wrong

so I sing louder than anyone in a crowded room
while I sneak glances at girls that are in my view
sluts wanting to fuck the next poet they meet
but I won't give them a mentionable opportunity

Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess I've made?

do you really think I should be surprised?
you're actions are louder than words
and I'm publishing your literature
here's a drunken phone call to get you by
but after all is said and done
you were just one night of fun

it was all a waste
from the way you taste
to the speeches you've made
it's all the same
you never change

(you never change)

so I sing louder than anyone in a crowded room
while I sneak glances at girls that are in my view
sluts wanting to fuck the next poet they meet
but I won't give them a mentionable opportunity

Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess,
the mess that I've made
Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess
the mess that I've made
Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess,
the mess that I've made
Oh, look at the mess I've made
won't you look at the mess
the mess that I've made

do you really think I should be surprised?

Got Myself A 160 GB iPod Today!
09/12/08 at 05:52 PM by Trevor Sostarich
So my buddy over at Best Buy gives me a call today and told me to go to Best Buy today to buy a 160 GB iPod. Apparently they've been discontinued, and Best Buy was selling them cheap just to get rid of them. I paid $150 bucks for it. Not bad at all I must say. Pretty spontaneous purchase on my part. The phone bill can wait.

"Chasing The Sun" new lyrics. Feedback?
08/23/08 at 10:06 PM by Trevor Sostarich
When I sit back and look at my life
I see how everything has changed
Iíve got all of these new aspirations
and nothing is constant, nothingís the same
so I walk wherever my heart leads me
thereís no crossroads to interfere
no second guessing the steps that I take
because itís all smooth sailing from here

and I remember wanting to leave
because this town has nothing to offer me
I remember wanting to leave
because of this town

now Iím holding my breath
because there is nothing left
but dreams Iíve had
and no muse to take in
Iím just searching for where I belong
so I keep on chasing the sun

As I sit here and take another drag
from the habit I swore myself Iíd quit
I take a good look at all of my days
and ponder about this life that Iím in
where the sky doesnít seem to shine like it should
at night when the stars all show their face
is there really nothing left here for me
there was nothing from the start, it was the same

and I remember wanting to leave
because this town has nothing to offer me
I remember wanting to leave
because of this town

now Iím holding my breath
because there is nothing left
but dreams Iíve had
and no muse to take in
Iím just searching for where I belong
so I keep on chasing the sun

ďkeep on dreamingĒ
they all use to say
ďyouíre running out of time
youíll regret it somedayĒ

but those are words spoken by the hopeless
destroyed by fear and broken promises
and I wonít give up like they want me to
because this is something they were never able to do

now Iím holding my breath
because there is nothing left
but dreams Iíve had
and no muse to take in
Iím just searching for where I belong
so I keep on chasing the sun

Iím holding my breath
because there is nothing left
but dreams Iíve had
and no muse to take in
Iím just searching for where I belong
so I keep on chasing the sun

When I sit back and look at my life
I see how everything has changed

I love this quote

"Either write something worth reading about, or do something worth writing about.Ē
- Ben Franklin

Isn't that the truth.

Just Saw The Dark Knight
07/18/08 at 11:44 PM by Trevor Sostarich
By far that was the best Batman movie I have ever seen. I walked away from that movie speechless. Movies NEVER do that to me. I was amazed with everything about it.

Oh and I LOVED the Joker's "Magic Trick". That was seriously amazing.

I don't understand women!!!
07/16/08 at 10:20 PM by Trevor Sostarich
I'm not going to say all women right now, but I am going to say most. They never seem to be happy and they seem to take everything literally. I'm getting so worn down with this crap. I'm stressing out over it and it's taking a toll on me. No matter what I do, what I say, or how I act, I don't think I can ever satisfy a woman. It's never good enough, so what's the point? It's one o'clock in the morning, and I'm getting text messages like crazy that are just insulting me. Do I turn off my phone, or do I not get any sleep tonight? So many questions, and not enough knowledge in this world to figure out females.

Finally met Tom Delonge (picture inside)
07/13/08 at 08:21 PM by Trevor Sostarich
It was pretty cool. He signed a few things and took a picture. I shook his hand and such. I liked it. It wasn't much, but I wasn't expecting much. Something happened to me for the first time though when I go to meet someone "Famous". My hands got really shaky and I thought I was about to have anxiety. Some kid pointed it out, but who cares. I've never met Tom. I've met Mark and Travis. Tom got me to pick up a guitar 10 years ago. He's actually the reason I became a musician. It was incredibly cool to finally get to shake his hand and say thank you.

Here's a picture:

That picture is after a nice hot, sweat filled day at Warped Tour. I'm really uncomfortable as well.

I had a really horrible week so this was a perfect way to start off a new week.

Yesterday was my 20th Birthday.
07/09/08 at 04:04 AM by Trevor Sostarich
It sucked!!! The first part of it was awesome, but it just went down hill from there. I don't even know what to say about it. I'm trying to have a good day celebrating my 20 years of living, and what happens? My grandmother goes to the hospital and her blood pressure drops mad crazy. The whole day I was thinking "My grandmother is going to die on my birthday. This is going to haunt me." She's still alive today. Hopefully she'll be okay. She's 92 years old if that says anything for ya.

Pre-Ordered The Mile After's New Album
07/01/08 at 11:28 PM by Trevor Sostarich
Today I pre-ordered The Mile After's new album. I love supporting bands that work hard and without a label. I listened to the album tonight (since it came with free MP3 downloads of the album), and I love it. Perfect for Summer. This album has been added to my "Summer Time" music and also my "Feel Good" music categories. I can't wait to see more from this band in the future. I hope I get my physical CD on July 15th. I'm anxious to see the album art and booklet.

Today was a good day. I listened to the new Hit The Lights most of the day, and then I listened to The Mile After. July is such a good time for music.

Wow. My birthday is 6 days away. Nice. One more year until I'm 21.

Wow. That's the only word I have to describe it.

Now all I have to wait for is Valencia's new album.

Interviewing some bands soon!!!
06/27/08 at 01:01 AM by Trevor Sostarich
So I'm going to be interviewing some bands in the near future. The list can be found below.

Warped Tour:
  • Angels & Airwaves
  • The Bronx
  • Say Anything

More bands I'll be interviewing:
  • Ludo
  • PlayRadioPlay!
  • Secondhand Serenade
  • Alkaline Trio
  • Boys Like Girls
  • The Maine
  • You, Me, & Everyone We Know
  • The Dear Hunter
  • Lydia

Some of these might fall through, but right now that's what's on the schedule. I already have Ludo, Angels & Airwaves, Say Anything, and You Me & Everyone We Know. Alkaline Trio is in the talks now, and so is PlayRadioPlay and Secondhand Serenade. I'll post more information when the dates get closer. Some of the shows are in August so I'm playing the waiting game.

Update With Profile and Recommendations.
06/21/08 at 10:00 PM by Trevor Sostarich
So yeah I update a bunch of stuff on my profile. I added my last.fm user name as well as my user name for Buzznet. I thought I already did that, but apparently not. It's nice to have a little photo blog not right up at the top of this blog.

My recommendations June 22nd 2008.

Music:
  • Go Radio - Welcome To Life Jason really was the heart and soul behind Mayday Parade and this debut EP from his new band is just a breath of fresh air. Make sure you go and see these guys on tour and pick up this EP while at the show. It's the only way to get it.
  • Socratic - Spread The Rumors This band is one of the most original bands around today. This album is a bit more poppier than their last, but with Mark Hoppus behind the boards on this one, it's set to be gold.
  • Mika - Life In Cartoon Motion This dude is my guilty pleasure. Just do yourself a favor and listen to "Grace Kelly". You'll be hooked!
  • The Format - Dog Problems This album is a classic. Not one bad, or boring song.
  • Blink-182 - Discography After watching the Angels & Airwaves documentary Start The Machine, I've been on the biggest fix.
Movies:
  • Angels & Airwaves: Start The Machine This documentary is very insightful. It makes you respect Tom Delonge and it makes you understand the whole Blink-182 situation better. I've also gotten more respect and a better idea of what he's trying to do with AvA. He's still crazy though.
  • Into The Wild The book is great and so is the movie. I've watched it a few times now. Doesn't get old. Pure classic. I almost bought Eddie Vendure's soundtrack for the movie, and I hate that guy.
  • Stranger Than Fiction This movie is a great watch. Probably one of Will Ferril's best in my opinion. It's written very well and it flows easily.
Television:
  • Arrested Development I think the show speaks for itself. Watch all the seasons on DVD. You can also buy them for $20 a season at Target.
Books:
  • The Words of Every Song by Liz Moore If you're into music and the industry this one is for you. I may have recommended it before, but I'm doing it again.

Starting a diet and work out program.
06/20/08 at 12:07 AM by Trevor Sostarich
I need to tone up. I noticed I've been kind of letting myself go as of lately. Time to change all of that. I need to loose this weight and get myself in a positive mindset again. Now I need to find a good work out program.

Things I'm going to do in order to tone up:
  • Swim
  • Bicycle
  • Roller-Blade
  • Sit Ups
  • Push Ups
  • Jog
  • Eat healthy and ditch soda COMPLETELY.
I can do this. I will do this.

PS. - Cute Is What We Aim For's new album isn't really that bad at all. I can see myself listening to this during the summer.

PS 2.0 - Hit The Lights' new album is going to be my "Summer Album". I need it now!

Say Anything show reaction
04/06/08 at 12:36 AM by Trevor Sostarich
As always they blew me away. They also dedicated "Chia-Like, I Shall Grow" to me. I love having friends in this band and I will always remember this. I got my picture taken with Max and Coby. They're really nice and down to earth guys. I would love to tour with them.

The "Shiksa" video is also coming out next week so that's going to be fun.

Seriously this was the best night I had in a while. I loved every second of it.
