city lights, sleepless nights
it's 6am/Dexter

I honestly don't know what I should write in this first entry. So. I think I will talk about Dexter.
Sorry this isn't about music. I watched Dexter tonight.

Dexter is my absolute favorite show. I basically only watch a few things: SNL, 30 Rock, The Office, and Skins. Lost was my favorite show the whole time it was on (I miss it), and I also love Friends and Arrested Development (as you can tell, I like sitcoms.) Dexter... Dexter blows every show on TV out of the water, in my opinion. But keep in mind that I generally don't watch a lot of TV. Especially since I'm living in a dorm now, and don't own one.

I've also read the books. And they are amazing and disturbing and wonderful.

So yeah. I started watching Dexter when I was fifteen, which was around the time season 2 was on. I think I was just seeing what was on, saw Dexter, and decided to watch it because a classmate had recommended it earlier. I was hooked. Everything about it was good: the camerawork, Michael C. Hall's narration, the blood and gore. The plot and dialogue. I remember watching season 3, and it seemed like there was a plot twist in every episode. I was like, holy crap, this is good tv. There was also the time when my boyfriend broke up with me right before Dexter came on. The episode happened to be one where Rita and Dexter were having issues (or something. They always seemed to have issues.) But I was watching it, still sobbing, and thinking, "I should not be watching this right now. Obviously love doesn't exist." But I couldn't stop because it was so good.

On to the review of this episode. I seem to be the only person who thought last season was good, or at least decent. I enjoyed watching it, anyway. However, I was really skeptical about where the show would go after the finale. It seemed like it could've ended, and I would be perfectly satisfied (if sad that my favorite show ended.) The promos for this season, however, got me really excited for what was in store.

And the premiere was good. The whole cult thing seems like it will be really interesting, especially since it's a weird Christian cult (alpha and omega on the body? "I am the Alpha and Omega?" duh.) I really loved when they found the vendor's body, and the snakes came out... Dexter seemed so fascinated. I wish there was more about Quinn and Debra- like, what the hell was that random restaurant shooting about. I also want to know what was up with that random BJ at the high school reunion. I'm hoping that Trisha person has something to do with the plot, and they didn't just include that to have a sex scene in the premiere (doesn't seem like the show's style, but who knows...) So yeah. It seems like there'll be some great stuff in the next episodes. I'm really glad the show is back. Just... this premiere was good, and that's all I really have to say.

Since I don't have a tv, I watched the leaked episode tonight. Needless to say, image quality was lacking. So I'll probably watch it again tomorrow/today to get the full effect.

and sorry this post is so long. congrats to anyone who actually reads it.
