FESTIVAL NEWS
The first set of bands for this years Slam Dunk Festival have been announced, and will take place at Leeds Uni on Saturday May 26th and Herts Uni, Hatfield on Sunday, May 27th. Bands announced so far: Taking Back Sunday, Architects, The King Blues, Every Time I DIe, Cancer Bats, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids, Set Your Goals, The Audition and Make Do And Mend.

The folllowing bands have been announced for 2000trees:
65daysofstatic, Pulled Apart By Horses, Rolo Tomassi, The Xcerts, Johnny Foreigner, My First Tooth, Brontide, Turbowolf, Freeze The Atlantic, Marmozets, Run WALK!, Shapes, The Bronze Medal, Goodnight Lenin, The Cadbury Sisters, Sam Russo, Jason Steel and Sam Brookes.

Tickets for this year's Leeds and Reading Festivals will go on sale at 7:15pm on Monday March 12th. The headliners and several other acts are due to be announced on the same day.

Killswitch Engage, Shinedown, Black Veil Brides, NOFX, Opeth and Nightwish have been added to this year's Download Fesival.

An announcement regarding the Sonisphere Festival is rumored to be made next Wednesday, possibly in Kerrang! magazine.

Hello Lazarus' new self-titled EP is available to order from from Scylla Records.

On their current UK tour, New Found Glory have confirmed the 'Pop-Punk's Not Dead' tour will be coming to the UK before the end of the year.

The Used will be playing a short acoustic set and doing a meet and greet at Banquet Records in Kingston on April 28th.

Your Demise have released a new song called 'Born A Snake which is taken from their new album, 'The Golden Age' which is released on March 26 via Visible Noise.

Pariso have joined Tangled Talk and will release a new CD on May 21st.

Devil Sold His Soul will play a one-off Christmas show at The Barfly in London on December 19th.

Metallica have been announced as the first headliners for next year’s Download Festival. The band will be playing their 1991 self-titled album, otherwise known as “The Black Album.”

Who’s Driving? Bear’s Driving! and Challenges have announced they will be releasing a split 7” EP through Hang Tight Records (UK only.)

Futures have released a new single entitled “Start A Fire”, and can be purchased through the bands official website.

I Am The Avalanchewill play an acoustic instore show at Banquet Records, Kingston on December 13th.

The Sony and PIAS Distribution warehouse is Enfield, London was burnt down on late Monday evening. The fire affected labels such as Xtra Mile, Hassle, Full Time Hobby, Domino, Beggars Group, Side One Dummy, Smalltown America, Ambush Reality and many more. PIAS and AIM (The Association Of Independent Musicians) will be setting up a donation fund to help the labels affected from the fire. Label Love have also set up their own donation service.

The organisers of the Slam Dunk Festival are asking fans to suggest bands to play the 2011 festival.

Hawthorne Heights will be playing a VIP acoustic charity show at Leeds Cockpit on November 16th. The show is to help raise money for Jennifer Lovell, a fan who was injured by the bands late guitarist Casey Calvert in 2006, after Calvert injured the fans jaw, leaving her with a £12,000 dentist bill. Tickets for the show can be purchased here and will take place before the bands support slot with Anberlin.
