Inside the Mind of Drew Beringer
|Time consumer, time consuming, consume me
|As some of you may notice, the title of my blog is a lyric to Time Consumer from Coheed and Cambria. There are two meanings to this for me. One, I have been insanely busy the past two weeks. Classes have been hectic, I made Homecoming Royalty at Ball State, which is fuckin cool, but it just adds to my busy schedule, as I have to attend many events this week and next (free food and open bar though, so that's sweet). The second part to the lyric is that I'm on a huge fuckin Coheed kick. I've been listening to all 3 of their albums in anticipation of No World For Tomorrow, which is my second most anticipated album in October (behind Say Anything, more thoughts on them later). I love Coheed and I'm exciting to see how the story wraps up. I also love the two Coheed songs I've heard (Running Free, Hound (of Blood and Rank). |
Now, the new Say Anything album is going to be fuckin massive and fucking great. I've only heard 4 songs (the three that have been released and The Church Channel, only 23 more songs to go lol) and those 4 songs have convinced me that this album is going to be oh so good. These four songs are all diverse and great and really show off Max Bemis' talented musical skills. Also, I've had the lyrics to all the songs for a week or so and they are amazing, as usual.
Relationship wise, I'm doing fine. I go through cycles/moods on how much I miss her. But I'm begun to take control of my emotions and I'm moving on. Music has been a big help, especially from Motion City Soundtrack and Armor For Sleep (more thoughts on it later). I think I'm ready to date, but we'll see, I'm waiting for the summer when I move back to Wisconsin.
As for Armor For Sleep, I've had the new record for two weeks, and Smile For Them is the best display of song writing the band has shown yet. It's huge, loud, and Ben sounds great on it.
Anyways, look out for a Spill Canvas review on the new record being posted tomorrow, as well as reviews for the new So They Say and aforementioned Armor For Sleep records next week.
That was quite the update.
