So the show tonight was great. Crime In Stereo was good. The front man was a little over the top. He just jumped around way too much. A little over the top for the opening act (in my opinion). They were easily forgettable. Thrice did great as well, but there's a lack of energy in their live shows now. Maybe I'm not growing like they are musically, but I just kept finding myself getting distracted. I kept looking at their gear more than listening to the songs they were playing. They're solid musicians, but I guess I just like the older material than the newer material.
Brand New on the other hand were fantastic. They opened the show with "You Won't Know" which was perfect. Their energy was spot on with their songs, and Jesse Lacey's voice makes you envious of his ability to sing the way he does. I find myself completely jealous of his writing style, his guitar playing, and his vocals. The dude has way more problems than I have ever had in my life, but damn does he know how to make me connect. Songs that were played tonight are listed below. I'll list them in no particular order, but by which album the songs appeared on.
Wow. That's all I can really say. It was fantastic beyond words. I've seen NFG plenty of times, but this was by far the best.
The opening bands did a great job. Crime In Stereo, Four Year Strong, A Day To Remember, and International Superheros Of Hardcore. Would that last one be considered an opening band? The crowd was big and energetic. Four Year Strong was great as usual. I wasn't too impressed with Crime In Stereo. They're good at what they do, but it just wasn't for me. I think my biggest surprise was A Day To Remember. Holy shit do they know how to rock. Seriously one of the best performances I've ever seen. They didn't miss a beat. Jordan (NFG) came out to help sing "Since U Been Gone".
International Superheros of Hardcore were awesome. Chad AKA Captain Straight Edge, makes a fantastic front man. He's energetic and he knows how to get the crowd going. He does the same think in New Found Glory, but this showed his full potential. One of the coolest surprised from I.S.H.C.'s set was when Jordan, Steve, and Cyrus left the stage and the dudes from Four Year Strong came out and helped Chad do a Shai Hulud cover. I was impressed.
The main event seriously blew me away. New Found Glory. Seriously. It was fucking great. Stunning rather. They basically hardcored up all their songs. It was nuts. Below you can find a set list of what I can remember. It's not in the right order though.
Better Off Dead
All About Her
Hit Or Miss
Head On Collision
All Down Hill From Here
Truth Of My Youth
It Never Snows In Florida
Tip Of The Ice Berg
Dig My Own Grave
No Reason Why
Failure's Not Flattering
At Least I'm Known For Something
Something I Call Personality
Forget My Name
My Friends Over You
Yeah so that's all I can remember. I know they played the one song (can't think of the name) that mentions their name. Any help with that?
