I spent all morning in a government-owned building waiting to have my fingerprints copied electronically. This is step 2 in the visa process. Thanks, England. I then sent off a bunch of forms (and my passport, yipes) to a British Consulate in Chicago. They will review my forms/app and approve/disapprove me for my visa. If I don't get approved, to say I'm royally fucked is an understatement. But it's out of my hands now. It's nice to have this monkey off my back. No more forms. No more fees. Feels good and I did almost all of it by myself. I might actually become a grown-up one of these days. Nahh.
Anyways, SB08 really kicks off tomorrow when I head down to Texas A&M to stay with some friends for a couple of days. Then it's back home so I can catch a flight and see Explosions in the Sky play in St. Louis for free! One of my friends got tickets for xmas, and he found it in his heart to invite me, so i'm stoked.
It's good to see my grandparents and family again. I miss this place more than I realize sometimes. Call your parents today, they'd love to hear from you.
