Recording with Beau Burchell of Saosin
07/26/13 at 09:03 PM by permanentdan
Its been a while, but my band Hideouts has been in the studio the past month or so tracking our followup to the Stuck Between Stories EP that was released in November of 2012. This ep is of 5 songs and has us a little bit outside of the comfort zone on these tracks! We are super excited with how everything has been coming out, and Beau has been doing a great job pushing us to make these songs the best they can be. We will be looking at a late August release for the first single, "Heres To New Beginnings..."

We also just released a cover of Ushers "DJ Got Us Fallin In Love" that was thiiiis close to making the latest installment of Punk Goes Pop, we mainly just couldnt get it wrapped up before certain deadlines. It is available for free download now, and you can listen to it on youtube. Check it out! It was a fun re-imagining of the song. We tracked that during the SBS EP sessions as well.

Thats pretty much it for now. We will be releasing a lyric video for the song "Pulling Me Down" here shortly, and then have another one slated for "New Beginnings" so keep on the lookout for those!

Until next time :)

So tomorrow we begin tracking drums for the final 4 songs of the Hideouts EP with our producer Jon Berry(Rufio/Runner), and i im super stoked to announce that Cameron Webb is going to be co engineering on it! He is a producer ive been personally wanting to work with for years, who has produced many amazing records for bands you all know and love, so to have his help on this ep is beyond cool to me. So excited for this!

Also, as if that werent cool enough, we are tracking it at Dexter Hollands studio here in Huntington Beach. Hes the singer of a little ole band called The Offspring, so were even more excited to be able to work at his place as well! Damn. We are very fortunate to be able to work with these amazing people, and we are very excited to bring the rest of this music to new ears. Its been tough holding it under the radar for several months, but now that we are actually able to move forward, it feels good :)
