In other news, I attended a meeting at the Women's Resource Center today, a grassroots organization at UTSA that is at an extreme lack of student involvement and financial funding. This is something that needs to be corrected. I've never been involved in groups/clubs in high school or college, so this is going to be a first for me. Topics such as date rate drugs, women in politics, sexism, and feminism in general need to be set under a much brighter spotlight. So far there are only three students involved, including myself and a friend, so there's a bunch of work to do. My first project is holding a book club meeting on Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, so I have to make sure to get that read in about a week. My friend and I also have to make up some fliers to promote the cause, so there's also that. My workload is quite heavy between school, mentoring, AbsolutePunk.net, and now this, so hopefully I don't crack under the pressure.
