I spent the last 15 or so minutes listening to the three new Fall Out Boy singles and reading a long with the lyrics. It was just as I expected, unless your Mr. Wentz himself, you probably can't follow what the hell they are trying to say. "I Don't Care" is fairly obvious, they are mocking mainstream pop culture, but further than that, I've got nothing. His metaphors and world play used to connect and actually make some sense, but now they don't seem to. I have always had a soft spot for Fall Out Boy, and I enjoy the progression they've made. People are calling for them to write another Take This To Your Grave and the qoute from the interview with Rohan is perfect. "It wouldn't mean anything to you, because it wouldn't mean anything to me". I do, however, wish that Pete would write lyrics like he used to, not change his message, but change the way he portrays them. The guy has a great handle on one liners, but he seems to lack in the abilitly to expand those into a 3 minute story like he used to. Either way, Fall Out Boy know how to write huge, anthemic, catchy, pop songs. This album is shaping up to be their most diverse yet.
