That's one of the things I like best about Crime in Stereo. If you take a look at their lyric sheet - there's alot to be impressed by. They're able to take a socially-charged song and make it a personal thing. I'd reccomend starting with "The Troubled Stateside" if you want to listen to a full-blown album. "Is Dead" is great, but admittedly quite a bit tamer...
As for Four Year Strong? Something about them has always rubbed me the wrong way. And maybe I'm letting my own personal taste get in the way of it all, but their songs have always seemed a bit forced to me. Almost as if they said, "Look how popular these bands are getting being poppy and having breakdowns! Imagine how popular we could be if we threw in even more breakdowns! And if we added keyboards, we could totally sound even poppier too! Dude, we could be the next band that girl's with boyfriends who wear Bane hoodies become obsessed with!" It's just never felt quite right to me.
Not saying it's right or wrong, just how it comes off in my opinon.
