I started playing music when I was in third grade and figured out the Star Wars theme (as well as another song) on the piano after watching it a few times with my friend, and I proudly played the theme on the cheap Casio for my music class. Our teacher was irritating and I didn't like her. She was a loud, heavy-set woman who maintained a short buzz-cut (though she was totally hetero, iirc). I think she may have been balding, and that was an attempt to dismiss it. I hated music class. Now I play like a dozen instruments and record a bunch of stuff myself because I'm no good at meeting band mates. I am a graduate student at Oregon State University. I study flavor chemistry. I have a library of 5-600 flavor chemicals that I use to recombine into mixtures smelling of fruits, sodas, french fries, hops, and the soap at my dentist's office.
