I don't really have one of those "behind the music" type events that I can give you. I wish I had one of those stories I could rattle off. Something like, "...and I was sitting in the kitchen, and Mom was playing her Whitney Houston record, and I just started bangin on those pots and pans and my Mother...she said to me 'Son...you're gonna be a big fancy musican, son. Son, you're gonna do just fine and you're gonna play some music for this here world we live in, son." I don't have one of those stories. But I can tell you that when things fall apart in my life and when the foundations of all that I thought was true and consistent in life start to crumble, music is the only consistent happiness that I can count on. It's the only thing I've consistently maintained a devotion for in my life. If you were looking to know when I started playing my first instrument...I started playing drums after I saw a video of Taylor Hawkins playing with the foo fighters. I was hooked.
Ryan Hunter, ladies and gentlemen.
