Biography Reed Silverstein
Hi, I'm Reed Silverstein a ambitious fifteen year old drummer/singer from Jersey. I began my musical career at a very young age - I started playing drums when I was three. I studied with my father Richard Silverstein aka (RAZ). I partook in my first recording experience when I was six at Skyline Studios NYC with my fathers old band One Power. I sang “Jingle Bells” at the end of their original “Maybe I Love You More”. Shockingly after that I sang, at the Metropolitan Opera Children's chorus from age's five to ten. During that time I was chosen to sing in Tosca, La Gioconda, La Boheme, Hansel & Gretel and many other operas.
During my years in Middle school I was involved in many classically trained ensembles. Another exciting experience was the Inter School Orchestra (ISO) in which I played percussion. While with the ISO I performed at Avery Fischer Hall & Symphony Space, as well as several other prominent New York City venues. I also became involved with my Middle School & High School Orchestras and Marching band. I have received Bronze & Silver awards for Marching Band. My teacher suggested I try out for Bergen County Band, and I was chosen 2 years in a row to participate.
Some of my formidable musical training was done at the School Of Rock in South Hackensack New Jersey. While there I studied with Andy Lucibello, Darek Palczak, Ray Belli, Brett Romans, & Eric See. While at School of Rock I had the fortune to jam with Leslie West, & Joe Lynn Turner. My current music educators are Jonathan Mover & David Yee.
Aside from all of my formal training, I am also involved in a band project called Doomsday Diaries. We have performed for 3 years at several venues such as The Bamboozle in the Meadowlands, The Stone Pony, Balloon Festival (New Jersey), Beatles Fest NYC, Union County Music Festival, The Gramercy Theater, The Highline Ballroom, School of Rock South Hackensack, Mexic
