My name is Josh. I got started in the music industry by promoting bands in May of 2006 under the company name Chi-Town Productions. I began doing this because Jon from Annabel Arose, currently the drummer of Eli, is a really good friend of mine and he asked me to help his band promote their first show. I found an interest in doing this, so I decided to help other bands. My current roster of bands that I promote is: Eli, A Kidnap In Color, Walrus, and Scarla Myth. In early 2007 I booked my first show at The Fat Bean in Naperville, IL. The person who gave me my first show was Tom Hartman of Screaming Beaver Records. Since then I have booked shows at many venues. Throughout my booking career I have had the pleasure of booking many national acts such as: The White Tie Affair, Secret and Whisper, Handshakes and Highfives, The Fold, and Thieves and Villains. In the summer of 2008 I joined the staff of Crescendo Magazine based out of Chicago, IL. At the magazine I am an editor, writer, and the head of marketing and promotions. I also come up with many of the spread ideas that are used in the issues that have come out previously and in the future issues. Crescendo has currently released four issues. Also in the summer of 2008 I started a partnership with my good friend Justin Infanti of Infanti Productions called Digital Venue. Our purpose is to give people a whole new way to look at their favorite venues by making insider videos of some of the best and most well established venues around. Our brand new website also includes amazing features such as: Direct emailing capabilities to venue owners and promoters, video streams of venues and detailed information about each venue. My academic background is that I am currently attending the University of Iowa as a full time student. I am a Pre-Business major at this point and I plan on majoring in Marketing/Advertising. I am also a graduate of Bartlett High School class of 2008.
