Letlive. have been pulled from their April 3rd date at House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Ladies and Gentlemen that were planning on attending the Lake Buena Vista, Florida date at the House Of Blues on the upcoming tour with Taking Back Sunday and The Menzingers and expecting to see ll.- due to reasons we cannot control, we will not be permitted to play said date. We have just been notified by the people at Disney Orlando/HOB that we have been pulled from the event. We cannot offer any details as to why since we were given none ourselves. Rumor has it that Goofy, Pluto, and most of Toontown were in protest against the decision, but Chairman Mouse exercised veto powers and struck...

The Maine's Kennedy Brock has revealed that he recently underwent surgery.
During our time recording American Candy, a tumor was found on my thoracic spine. I went through a tricky surgery to remove it, but everything went as good as humanly possible and it has since been classified as benign. I am currently healthy and free of my unwanted friend, but still very sore and healing. I am writing to request that everyone please be gentle, with hugs and such, while hanging out with me over the next few months. I love you all and couldnít be happier to be seeing you all again soon! #AMERICANCANDY #8123 #Nigelthetumor

PM Today have called out Every Time I Die on their Facebook page. They would like to encourage their fans to take as many selfies on stage as you would like at their shows.
Mistreating your fans and abusing whatever power you think you have because people like your band is not "cool". We challenge everyone at our next show to get onstage and take as many selfies as your phone can handle.

Lights has dropped Jian Ghomeshi as manager.
I posted comments about Jian Ghomeshi the day after he was dismissed by the CBC where I rushed to defend my manager of 12 years. I am now aware that my comments appear insensitive to those impacted and for that I am deeply sorry. This is to confirm that as of now I will be parting ways with Jian Ghomeshi as my manager.

I hope everyone can heal from this.

Brody Dalle has posted a blog on Facebook talking about J.Lo and Iggy Azalea's new song "Booty." The full blog is in the replies.
JLo and Iggy may feel empowered by their bodies and thatís fine, their bodies ARE powerful, beautiful and life giving. But they are so much more than just their bodies. They may feel that using their bodies is the only currency they have in order to stay popular and on the top. It has become a contest of who gets the most hits on youtube and vevo and who can take it the furthest, not about the quality of their songs and the messages they are sending. And why? To make lots of money and to line the pockets of the big machines, regardless of who that affects.

Joe Steinhardt of Don Giovanni Records has posted a message on Facebook challenging Recess Records and Asian Man Records to speak up about their association with The Queers and Screeching Weasel after multiple incidents over the years.
Forget the Ice Bucket Challenge. I challenge two labels, Recess Records and Asian Man Records to completely disassociate with sexist, racist, and homophobic punk bands like The Queers and Screeching Weasel. It is ridiculous that anyone legitimate would be working with them to release their music after the long-term pattern (note: not isolated incidents) of sexist, racist, and homophobic crap they spew online and offline. Mike and Todd, you can do better....

ABC News is reporting that Isis, the band, has had to change the name of their Facebook page (to Isis the band) to avoid being confused with the that other ISIS.
"Fans have emailed us that they're reluctant to wear our T-shirts now and we've also gotten some off-color comments," Harris said.

Broadway have parted ways with Uprising Records. They will be releasing a new single, "Volcano Jack," on Friday.
Hey guys, so lets cut to the chase. We're here today to announce our departure from Uprising Records! We've have a long and interesting relationship with them for five years now, but the Broadway boys are finally stepping out on their own and into the wild.

Now to quell any worries, this will not affect our new album in anyway! In fact our entire recording process for this 3rd album has been independent. Funded by us, for you! We are by no means, rich fellows, or even wealthy. In fact we're probably just above the poverty line. We work at pizza joints, pawn shops etc. We...

Sumerian Records' CEO, Ash Avildsen, has responded to the post made earlier from Upon a Burning Body.
I woke up to a ton of missed calls and just saw all this stuff about Danny Leal of UABB posing as that he's been abducted or kidnapped. My phone hasn't stopped ringing since. As a child, we all learn the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" and it sticks within our consciousness for a reason. I do not condone this type of publicity stunt. This was done behind my back and I am not OK with it. In my eyes, there's never a time to use the possibility of real-life abduction, injury or murder of someone you care about to promote anything, especially an album. If you need to resort to that, then you...

Robin from Fleet Foxes has posted an update about the band's current status.
For anyone who's curious, this is a short Fleet Foxes update - been a while! So, after the last round of touring, I decided to go back to school. I never got an undergraduate degree, and this felt like the right time to both see what that was about and to try something new after a while in the touring / recording lifestyle. I moved to New York and enrolled at Columbia, and I've mostly been doing that, but I'm working on songs and excited for whatever happens next musically, even if it's down the line. Hope all is well out there.

Facebook has purchased Oculus Rift for $2 billion.
The acquisition of Oculus seemingly comes out of nowhere: the company just demoed its most recent version of the Oculus Rift development kit at GDC 2014 to much fanfare. Oculus has been steadily moving towards a consumer product, and Facebook's resources can only help to push that mission along. "Facebook understands the potential for VR," the Oculus team wrote in its own blog post announcing the deal. "Mark and his team share our vision for virtual realityís potential to transform the way we learn, share, play, and communicate. Facebook is a company that believes that anything is possible with the right group of people, and we couldnít...

Interested in how Facebook sees music for the next few years? This interview with employee Ime Archibong gives a lot of insight.
For music specifically -- I know I'm one of the "music" guys at Facebook, I've been tremendously bullish on it. Music, [as I said], is a form of communication. Facebook is in the business of facilitating communication between two people. There's no reason why this overlap isn't going to continue happening. It's been happening for the last decade on the platform. If anything, the products, the way it shows up, the way it actually happens has continued to grow up and evolve as a business and will continue, to use a business term, "up and to the right." So I'm...
