Today we're bringing you a new song from Elway called "Patria Mia (Room 20)" and it's off of Leavetaking, which will be released June 25th digitally and July 2nd physically through Red Scare Industries. This catchy album closer (which you can find in the replies) is one of my personal favourites and if you're into bands such as The Menzingers you'll probably enjoy this. I also spoke with vocalist/guitarist Tim Browne about the record and you can check out that interview here.
Leavetaking is a little bit different, when we made the record we intentionally wanted to focus more on lyrics and song writing rather than making big huge anthems and sing alongs. God willing ...

The Minneapolis music scene has been on fire the past few years, and newcomers Bad Bad Hats fit right in with their own brand of indie-rock. Stand-up comic Myq Kaplan knows his demographic by now, and that is "people who know the word demographic." With a master's degree in linguistics to complement his blazing-fast wit and skill with wordplay, Kaplan's sophomore release Meat Robot is a perfect answer to the question 'What if somebody that's incredibly smart also realized they're really, really funny?' Host of the Hang Out With Me podcast, Kaplan is unafraid to hit on any number of topics this time around, even if that means excluding audience members because of their incestuous lesbian grandmothers. And while the album isn't officially released until tomorrow (and can be pre-ordered on iTunes here), we've got an exclusive...

In one of the more unique features we've done recently, we teamed up with community member Explode to present one of his favorite artists, Matthew Mayfield, to the website. Explode reviewed his new EP, Irons In The Fire, and his 2011 LP, Now You're Free. With the reviews, Explode also interviewed Mayfield and incorporated his answers into his review. We're bringing you a stream of his new EP, which has a unique blend of modern alternative rock with a southern flair. My best comparison is Switchfoot meets The Fray with this powerful yet sometimes fragile delivery like Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem. Listen to the EP in the replies.

Good Luck Varsity has quickly become one of my favorite new bands in the scene and I hope you take a few minutes to check these guys out. It's time to meet your new favorite singer-songwriter - Tyler Daniel Bean. The former frontman for screamo group Ghosting pleased ears with his 2012 album, Longing, and he looks to continue this trend with his upcoming 7", Everything You Do Scares Me. We are premiering one of the tracks from that 7", titled "I Was Wrong," and it's fantastic. Taking the subtle darkness of a mewithoutYou song and combining it with pleasant melodies reminiscent of Pedro The Lion, this song is a must-listen for any 90's emo enthusiast. We're incredibly thrilled to bring you an exclusive premiere of boysetsfire video "Closure" off of their upcoming record, While a Nation Sleeps, out June 11th on Bridge 9. It's a mixture of live footage and their journey to help save a youth center in Bavaria. I must say, before you watch this video, that there's a few things you should know about this band. They began with a vision in a small Delaware town. They rallied the youth to participate in social justice issues. And despite their hiatus, when at one point guitarist Josh Latshaw broke his neck in near-paralysis, they've still managed to possess greater stage presence and heart than any of their younger counterparts.
