For the first half of 2015, strong growth in revenues from streaming services offset declines in digital downloads and overall wholesale revenues increased 0.8% to $2.3 billion on a year-over-year basis. At retail, the overall value decreased 0.5% to $3.2 billion.
Pandora announced early Wednesday that it would acquire Ticketfly for $450 million, in a mix of cash and stock. The deal further expands Pandora’s interests in providing services to artists. Last year, it introduced a data system, the Artist Marketing Platform, or AMP, that shows musicians which songs are most popular on the service and where. And in May, Pandora bought Next Big Sound, another data service, which studies the listening and online searching patterns of streaming music customers.

Turnover is on tour right now with Lydia, Seahaven, and The Technicolors, their third full US support tour since the summer started. They released Peripheral Vision to much critical acclaim back in the Spring, an album that our staff has enjoyed a lot, so we were pleased to be given the opportunity to talk to vocalist Austin Getz for a little while before the show. Brian Fallon has headed into the studio with Butch Walker to begin working on his new solo album, Painkillers, which is set to release in early 2016 via Island Records. He's also announced some new solo tour dates starting in January of next year that you can find in the replies.
Come Wind will be releasing their new album Move In Place on November 20th. The album was fully fan funded via Kickstarter, and the band exceeded their goal. We have premiered a song or video for them every year since 2012, and we are keeping that up today with their new single "Clarity." Hit the replies to watch the video for the new song. Trophy Lungs are releasing their new album Day Jobs on October 16th via Antique Records.
