Over the weekend at the UK Warped Tour, Watsky stage dove from about 35 feet up off the lighting rig and broke a girl's arm. Photos and video footage can all be found here.
He added: 'I feel f****** terrible. I made a boneheaded decision that got people hurt, and it's extremely lucky it wasn't worse. Putting your own body on the line is one thing, but putting other people in harm's way is inexcusable. I let down my supporters, I let down the Warped Tour and I let down my band and the people who work their asses off behind the scenes to make these shows happen. My #1 priority right now is to somehow make this right for the folks who were hurt.
According to the LA Times, Blink-182 will be recording new material "within 90 days."
After leaving longtime home Interscope Records, Blink is in talks for a new deal. It expects to record new material within the next 90 days. Nostalgia surrounding the 10th anniversary of "Blink-182" notwithstanding, the idea is to channel the 2003 mojo into the new material.
Step 1: shack up in some opulent SoCal spot for the duration of recording. This time, Hoppus said, they're thinking Malibu.
The band on the new album is Brian Bequette (Bass), Brian Fallon (Guitar), Joe Magistro (Drums), Kevin Salem (Production, Guitars and batting clean-up), and of course yours truly. The album will be released next year, but not until I feel it has a snowball's chance in hell. It's too good. Stay tuned, I'll keep you posted.
We have decided to take Ocean Avenue Acoustic back out on the road! From January 16th until February 7th, 2014 we will be playing some of the cities we missed the first time around. The show will still consist of Ocean Avenue Acoustic all the way through, followed by an electric set of songs from our other records.
Kanye West gave a talk at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. You can watch a video of it here, and a transcript has been typed up here. After the talk Kanye gave the entire class tickets to his show.
"We’re talking a lot about it, trying to figure out what we want to do," the frontman says. "We knew we wanted to focus on the anniversary for now and have that be our stepping stone into the right mindset. I think we’re going to be writing and sharing ideas throughout the touring, then see where we are and focus after that. We don’t want to rush anything; it’s been awhile since we put out a record of all new songs, so we want to make sure we do somethign we love and go in the right direction and know what we’re doing. So we’re not gonna rush it but, yes,...
The Lawrence Arms will release Metropole, their sixth studio album, first for Epitaph Records and first in eight years, on January 28, 2014. The first song released from that album, "You Are Here," is streaming on Noisey (read an interview there, too) and in the replies.
From Knoxville, Tennessee, Skytown Riot will be releasing their new EP, Soul Or System, tomorrow. Today, we are streaming the whole thing. Fans of more atmospheric material with haunting pianos and elements of Muse should enjoy "Sensational" or even their rendition of "House Of The Rising Sun," while "The Afterglow" could be played on soft rock radio. Even though it only has six tracks, this EP pulls from a lot of places, making it hard to really categorize. Be sure to give it a listen in the replies.
This week on the Self Promotion Spotlight, I'm came across the wonderful New Manners. The indie-pop five-piece from Upland, CA have released their debut single, "Don't Mind It" and their self-titled debut EP is due Decemeber 3. The single is an upbeat cut of sophisticated and catchy indie with more than a hint of Bombay Bicycle Club to it. Have a listen to it here. Interested in being a part of the Self-Promotion Spotlight? Plus, he spoke about his new microbrew, the importance of monetization and getting "YouTubers" to play Warped."
