Allison Weiss and her band rolled their van last night driving from Denver to Salt Lake City. Luckily everyone is okay, minus a few minor injuries. A Paypal has been set up for donations to help with everyone's recovery. You can read a full statement from Allison in the replies.
Northbound started in 2012 as the solo project of Jonathon Fraser of hardcore act Sleep Patterns. You may remember when we streamed their album Death Of A Slug back in April. We are streaming their new EP, Trigger Relief, which can be heard in the replies. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Mat Kerekes of Citizen, who also plays drums on "Piano Hands" and guitar/guest vocals on "Nice Boy."

Taylor Swift is absolutely right: music is art, art has real value, and artists deserve to be paid for it. We started Spotify because we love music and piracy was killing it. So all the talk swirling around lately about how Spotify is making money on the backs of artists upsets me big time. Our whole reason for existence is to help fans find music and help artists connect with fans through a platform that protects them from piracy and pays them for their amazing work. Quincy Jones posted on Facebook that ôSpotify is not the enemy; piracy is the...
The Moms are currently on the Buy American Tour with Everything Ever. We will be premiering a video tour diary series throughout the tour. You can watch the first part in the replies, along with the rest of the tour dates. Buy American is out now.
If there's one thing we're all familiar with, it's the sentiment that intimate and personal lyricism is a huge part of the music we love to listen to on this website. Chicago-based indie-punk act The Downtown Struts may be an unfamiliar name for most, but their new EP Hope You're Dope, out November 18 via Pirates Press Records, is worth keeping an eye on because of the starkly blunt nature of its content. Frontman Dan Cooper chronicles his battles with bipolar disorder throughout the EP's four tracks, and it makes for a riveting listen because it's rare to see artists open up about such sensitive topics in such big ways. Stream the song "Abused" in the replies, and if you like what you...

Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest just wrapped up it's 9th year of festing, but still got off to a rocky start this weekend when will-call ticket holders had to wait up to 5 hours just to get their wristbands. The festival didn't provide any refunds, but did apologize profusely via social media. As some one who picked up her wristband early, I had nothing but positive experiences at FFF this weekend. The sound was big, the crowd was weird, and the food was delicious. Check out a handful of photos and blurbs below, as well as a link to a full gallery!
Jason Aldean, one of country music's biggest stars, has pulled his latest album off Spotify. We talk quite a bit about a future in which some artists are on Spotify, some are not, and some are elsewhere on the latest episode of the AP.net Podcast. I feel like we've been spoiled so far and may be headed more toward a Netflix like future.
Black Tusk bassist Jonathan Athon has passed away. He was 32.
It is with deep regret and saddened hearts that we must tell you that Athon passed away this morning from injuries sustained from his motorcycle accident. Doctors told us that he suffered irreparable brain damage shortly after the accident. He has been in a coma and sustained by life support until now. As per his wishes, we removed Athon from his life support systems and his organs will be donated. His body will be cremated and a memorial is being planned for family and friends in Savannah. He was 32 years old and will be forever missed. Thank you all for your support during this devastating time for us, it would have made...
