Check out Yellowcard's first single from Southern Air, titled "Here I Am Alive," here. It features Tay Jardine from We Are The In Crowd on it, and this is the song that Patrick Stump had a hand in writing. The phenomenal record comes out August 14.
There's a video interview with Yellowcard's Ryan Mendez in the replies, where he teases a fall tour. He says the opening bands are already locked in, but doesn't say who they are. Who do you want to see Yellowcard hit the road with in support of Southern Air?
Yellowcard violinist Sean Mackin was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in December 2011, and has undergone surgeries and radiation to help fight it. He's getting stronger every day and plans to perform with Yellowcard throughout the entire Warped Tour. Sean wrote a message to the band's fans, which you can read below. Yellowcard is a favorite among the AP.net community, and I personally consider Sean to be one of the most genuinely nice, and wholeheartedly optimistic, people I've met in this industry. We wish him the best of luck moving forward in his treatments, hope he finds the strength and support he needs moving forward, and pray for only the best in the coming months.
As if you needed another reason to get excited about the new Yellowcard LP, it looks likePatrick Stump will be featured in a guest vocal spot on it as well. Violinist Sean Mackin says Yellowcard is "really throwing the kitchen sink at this one."
Got a quick update from Ryan Key from Yellowcard about the guest-vocals on the new album. Basically, the guest vocals are part of a huge group four-part harmony in the bridge of a new song. It includes Ryan, Alex from All Time Low, Cassadee Pope, and Tay from We Are The In Crowd. It's a four part harmony in the bridge, not lead vocals. Having spent some time with the band throughout the years, I feel relatively confident in saying this is the most excited I've ever heard them about a new batch of songs.
