Oregon's Lee Corey Oswald shot their new music video for "Scatterbrain" entirely on their cell phones. It's an appropriately lo-fi medium for their style, which is in the same vein as Weezer, Knapsack and '90s indie rock. You can check it out in the replies. Regards is out now on No Sleep Records.
Alex DiVincenzo on 02/12/15 - 01:04 PM
We're really excited to premiere a brand new song from The Beautiful Ones, off their brand new album Jaded Love. The band was on tour supporting Cruel Hand, in which their unique brand of hardcore was well received by those in the crowd. Think of a darker, more aggressive version of Superheaven. The album drops April 21st via 6131 Records, pre-orders will be available soon. Head to the replies to stream "Exhale (Room 312)".
Jake Denning on 02/12/15 - 12:57 PM
Ice Hockey will be releasing its new album, Wavefunction Collapse, on 2/24/15 via Texas Is Funny. Today, we are premiering a brand new song from the album titled "East Lansing," and you can get a taste of the Iowa quintet's brand of hardcore in the replies. If you dig it, make sure to pre-order the record ASAP

Most of the coverage that has surrounded Heartless Breakers so far on the site has been centered around the fact that it's the new project of former Daytrader member Matt Mascarenas. But while we're premiering their new song "Carbon Copy" today, I'd rather point out that they take cues from early-era Taking Back Sunday while mixing in elements of post-hardcore -- ultimately, it's something completely separate from Daytrader in my mind, and in a good way. The band's debut full-length, The Great Give Back, comes out on March 10th, and if you like "Carbon Copy" in the replies, you can pre-order the album via Animal Style Records.

We're in the midst of record snowfall here in Massachusetts, but Boston's own Actor|Observer will thaw you off with their fiery post-hardcore onslaught. Stream a new song titled "Spread Thin" in the replies, which comes from their self-released full-length debut, The Longer Now, due out on March 10th. The effort was produced by Jay Maas (Defeater) and brings to mind such acts as Alexisonfire, Defeater and Vanna.

Everything Ever are gearing up to release their new album Solid Ground on March 10th via Secret Audio Club. We are streaming a new song called "Big Ideas" - it's in the replies. The song is a fast-paced pop-punk tune, but the interesting part is that it incorporates some of the more theatrical type vocals of bands like Panic! at the Disco. The vocals contrast a lot with the heavily palm-muted guitars at times, while speeding up tenfold at other moments. For only three minutes, the track has a fun hook that gets your foot tapping, a slowed-down drawn-out bridge, and rapid paced singing in between it all - it's a doozy. The band has announced a slew of tour dates, which include stops with...

We recently talked about Cartel's upcoming Chroma 10 year tour and vinyl release on our podcast and how influential that album was in shaping tastes and the whole "pop-punk sound" for a few years. Ten years ago we were the website that first streamed the album for everyone to hear -- so it's with a lot of pride (and an impending sense of my own age) that we present a special acoustic version of "If I Fail" with you today. The band recorded these sessions with Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (the team behind Chroma), and we have a whole bunch of these to release over the next few weeks. Hit the replies for the song all the information about the band's upcoming tour.

We'll be bringing you exclusive videos from Hit the Lights leading up to the March 24th release of their new album, Summer Bones. Dubbed "Skeleton Series," the documentary-style series was created by Kyle Thrash. Chapter 1 can be viewed in the replies. It gives an honest look at the inner workings of the band - including the rarely-publicized negative aspects. Check back next Monday for more, and pre-order Summer Bones from Pure Noise Records.

Philadelphia, PA, hardcore bands Disinterest and Skin Graft will be releasing a split on Inorganic Records. Disinterest plays noisy, effect-laden hardcore, and Skin Graft focuses on a drum and bass hardcore sound, de-emphasizing guitars. Today we're not just bringing you a song from the split, we're bringing you one song by each band. Hit the replies to check out each band's effort - Disinterest has "Identity Will Ruin You," while Skin Graft's song is titled "Devalue." If you enjoy Disinterest's track, they'll be playing their side of the split in full as part of a live session on Drexel's radio station, WKDU, on the seventeenth at 11PM. You can preorder the split at Organic Records'...

I always enjoy making the first post on AP.net about a band -- it's just something about introducing a bulk of the community to something new. Whether you've heard the name Makeshift Shelters before or not, we're happy to acquaint you with the Washington, D.C.-based act's new full-length album, Something So Personal, in the form of the LP's lead track, "Opposite Directions." You can find the song streaming in the replies. Ella Boissonnault's vocals are what sticks out on first listen, but I keep coming back to the track because it vaguely reminds me of an intrinsic quality I believe Makeshift Shelters share with Motion City Soundtrack -- I hate to throw out the word "quirkiness," but I...

Bleed American is releasing its debut full-length record, Figure It Out, on Valentine's Day and today we're streaming one of the songs from that album. "Movie Theatre Theft" is one of my favourites because it showcases how good these guys are at writing hooks and has been stuck in my head for the last few months. If you don't mind that this Winnipeg based named themselves after a Jimmy Eat World record you should listen to it in the replies and let us know what you think. This is honestly the first pop-rock record that's really caught my attention since Brighter Brightest released Right For Me in 2011. Pre-orders are available right now via iTunes.

Ryan from The Swellers has started a new band called Young Hunger and today we're premiering their brand new song "Holes in Your Tongue." This four piece hail from Detroit and, in their own words, write "straight forward, catchy songs that could fit in perfectly on a Punk-O-Rama comp." The band's first show will be February 13th in Detroit and also contains members of Frank White and Before I Go. Hit the replies to check out the song and let them know what you think.

It would be easy to overwhelm you with descriptions of what Blind Mice sounds like. The New Bedford, MA-based band, which features Half Hearted Hero guitarist AJ Mills and former Ra Ra Riot drummer Michael Ashley, takes cues from a lot of '90s alt-rock, but I also hear a lot of more modern punk-rock in their new song, "Fifteen," which we're premiering in the replies. The easiest comparison to point to would be Polar Bear Club, with those gruff vocals paving the way -- but by no means is this band ripping off anything, incorporating shades of Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind into their new EP, Sunday Songs. That release drops on March 17 via Animal Style Records, and you can pre-order...

If you'd like to check them out live, you can see them at the Pontiac, MI date of the Glamour Kills Tour, featuring headliners Set It Off. You can check out "Let's Be Alive" in the replies.

We are premiering a new song off of it - "I'd Rather Be Sleeping." It's one of the best pop-punk songs released so far this year, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Check it out in the replies to see what I mean. The band will also be supporting Have Mercy on tour with Weatherbox and Head North - dates for that are below, as well.

Taking their name from an Arctic Monkey song, Reckless Serenade are normally a fast-paced pop-punk band. However, their new song "Autumn Eyes" slows things down a bit, sounding kind of like Thriving Ivory meets The Rocket Summer - something like that. Give it a listen in the replies, where you'll also find the band's upcoming tour dates. The band will release a new album later this year.
Ryan Gardner on 01/13/15 - 11:08 AM

Choke Up will release their debut full-length, Black Coffee, Bad Habits, via Black Numbers on February 3. The band takes cues from acts like Hot Water Music, as BrooklynVegan pointed out when they streamed their first single "Thicket And Vine," but I also hear a fair amount of newer-school gruff-punk-ish emo like Captain, We're Sinking in the song we're debuting today, titled "KC." Check it out in the replies, and if you dig it, you can pre-order Black Coffee, Bad Habits via the Black Numbers webstore.
