Jocelyn are a brand new pop-rock band from Iowa City, Iowa and they recently put out their debut release, To You and Yours, this past June (which can be purchased on iTunes here). Produced by Kevin Gates (Cady Groves, Never Shout Never, The Ready Set), this infectious five song EP should not go unnoticed. You can stream it in its entirety on their AP Profile. For fans of: Cartel, Artist vs Poet, The Downtown Fiction.

Roughly a year ago, post-hardcore outfit Corelia released a pretty awesome EP by the name of Nostalgia. Just last month, the band decided they wanted to take that release a step further, releasing a collection of instrumentals, isolated vocals and demos. Today, we're bringing you a taste of both sides of the band with a stream of the instrumental version of "Blood Petals" and the vocal track for "The Sound of Glaciers Moving", both of which are in the replies. Whether you've check these guys out before or not, I highly suggest giving these tracks a run. If you like what you hear, be sure to pick up either version of this EP here. Recommended for fans of Protest the Hero and Periphery.

This week's Consequential Apathy is dedicated to the bands that did their thing in a short time and made a mark for future bands to come, just their hometown or even a small group of friends. You can read my thoughts after seeing one of my close friend's band play their final show. I want you to think of all the bands that lasted for such a short time but made a huge impact in your life. Head to the replies and be "that guy" who saw "that band" when.

There's something about the last year that has grappled me back into my "heavy" diet I weened off of some years back. With bands like Code Orange Kids, MilanKu and Full of Hell entering my life - I've definitely enjoyed the more sinister, unnerving and angrier side of music in 2012. Then there's Mountain Man's upcoming record. Two is unforgiving. From the opening beat down of "Home is a concept" to the closing exhaustion of "Take out the sun" (one of the best tracks of 2012), Mountain Man stake a claim in this decade's competition of tearing down walls and walls of inner ear structures. It's angry, violent and shows little to no remorse - everything a good hardcore record should be. It...

From the InterviewI like writing songs that feel like they could have been written at any point in time, but then itís good to mix up mundane with the big stuff. Iím obsessed with the idea that just to sing something is to give something reverence. To me, itís not the typical idea of what is revered or what is sacred. To sing about something completely mundane, you give it this power... You can make a shrine of anything.

The last few years certainly haven't been short on reunions. If you were in a band that reached cult status years after your disband, you may just be headlining festivals over current major selling artists who worship the stage you didn't play on for ten years. What makes us yearn for the reunion itself? Not every band went out on top to some, but some of us never even got a chance to make that judgement until years later. Still, no one can deny that a little nostalgia never hurt anyone.

I think the biggest incentive is when a band disbands after writing something so special with no follow-up. It's a Nolan film with a closer that keeps us guessing, "Well?! Is that it?! Need MOAR!" While...
