A few months back I was jotting down some thoughts on how my musical taste has grown the past couple of years, and especially the last decade. While I could sit here all day and tell you how I've delved into this genre from that genre and so on, one thing hit me: I care more about how something sounds than I did when I was younger. It's less about the lyrical mood my choice in music makes and more about the audible wrecking ball on every new record I come across these days. To me, that's what is important. Whether it's as simple as a bright pop-punk song or as devastating as the drop out in a post-rock song, it's all about a feeling created through caring about not only how well a song...

Tomorrow the Favorite Gentlemen Tour kicks off in Nashville, TN, the same place Harrison Hudson calls home. You can head to the band's AP.net profile to listen and download "Metal to Mold," a new song from the band. Make sure to head here to check out contest details and prize packages for the tour.

Today we're bringing you another artist profile from one of the bands on the upcoming Favorite Gentlemen Tour which kicks off this Thursday in Nashville, TN. We've got Harrison Hudson giving us a straight-forward rundown as to why you should catch Death On Two Wheels. You can also head to the band's AP.net profile to listen and download "Hey Amariah," if you already didn't download the label's sampler, which you still can.

From the InterviewI basically see our songs as regular love songs. Just like anybody else, you fall in love with people. You might be in love with someone, but they donít love you back or even know who you are. Or maybe you like them a lot and they just think youíre really creepy. Itís a difficult situation with a lot of heartache and thatís where a lot of the inspiration comes from. I think weíre all romantic guys and thatís what ...

The Favorite Gentlemen Tour kicks off this Thursday night in Nashville, TN. Instead of profiling the bands ourselves, we decided to let the artists do that for us, because that's where I personally like to hear about other bands - from my favorite bands. We asked a member of each band to write-up a piece about another band on the tour. Today All Get Out talk about the tour's opener, Junior Astronomers. Head to the band's AP.net profile as well to listen and download "Touching War," a new demo from the band.

After a five-month layoff, the Self-Promotion Spotlight is back in a big way.

Kids With Torches is a self-described "sophisti-pop" band from the southeastern edge of the United Kingdom that employs cinematic, electro-indie elements. The band has just released their seven song EP Carried Over Trees and hot damn if it isn't something. Each of the seven songs are pensive, wholly consuming, and undeniably gorgeous. Anyone who enjoys Radiohead, Elbow or Blue Nile should find something to like here. The album is available for free at the group's Bandcamp page. Want a chance at getting your band featured here? Jocelyn are a brand new pop-rock band from Iowa City, Iowa and they recently put out their debut release, To You and Yours, this past June (which can be purchased on iTunes here). Produced by Kevin Gates (Cady Groves, Never Shout Never, The Ready Set), this infectious five song EP should not go unnoticed. You can stream it in its entirety on their AP Profile. For fans of: Cartel, Artist vs Poet, The Downtown Fiction.

Roughly a year ago, post-hardcore outfit Corelia released a pretty awesome EP by the name of Nostalgia. Just last month, the band decided they wanted to take that release a step further, releasing a collection of instrumentals, isolated vocals and demos. Today, we're bringing you a taste of both sides of the band with a stream of the instrumental version of "Blood Petals" and the vocal track for "The Sound of Glaciers Moving", both of which are in the replies. Whether you've check these guys out before or not, I highly suggest giving these tracks a run. If you like what you hear, be sure to pick up either version of this EP here. Recommended for fans of Protest the Hero and Periphery.
