Folk singer Roy Harper has been charged with sexually abusing a girl from the age of 12. The 72-year-old is due before Hereford Magistrates' Court on Monday accused of nine counts of sexual assault. West Mercia Police said the offences are alleged to have been committed in Herefordshire between 1975 and 1977 and relate to one victim.
Yellowcard will be doing some more Ocean Avenue acoustic tour dates in early 2014.
Ocean Avenue Acoustic back out on the road! From January 16th until February 7th, 2014 we will be playing some of the cities we missed the first time around. The show will still consist of Ocean Avenue Acoustic all the way through, followed by an electric set of songs from our other records. Look out Monday for more information and how to get VIP tickets.
The Offspring aren't sure how they're going to release music in the future. As reported in an Australian interview, this could be with Columbia or another label or maybe for free online.
At this point, all options are open. Either we go back and try and renegotiate a deal with Columbia or work with someone else or maybe even make our music free on the internet. In a way itís very liberating, as well as being scary, not knowing what to do and having to figure it out for ourselves, but you know, weíve been doing this for quite a while and Iím sure weíll land on our feet.
Just a friendly reminder to make sure you check us out on other social networks. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Last.fm, and Rdio. The AP.net staff can also be found elsewhere online, this post highlights where. Show us some love.
Today we are streaming the new So Many Ways EP Seer coming out on Staple Records. This barn-burner of a release combines pop-punk, shredding metal leads, thrash-y riffs, and much more. Listen in the replies and pre-order your copy now.
"We love Warped Tour and it's a great way to get your band exposed, especially when you're first starting out but I feel like if you start doing it every year or every other year, you get pigeonholed into that scene. It's not something that we don't necessarily want to do again but it's something that we're conscious about that we don't want to be just a Warped Tour band. "
Life On Repeat released a new song called "Karma Calls" which you can hear in the replies. It comes from the band's new and final album, Blacklisted, set for release on Dec. 3rd on Equal Vision Records. It's available for pre-order.
"We have some new music coming up. We have a whole new project thatís done. I donít know when itís coming out, but when it does I think thatís really going to be the ďOh shit!Ē momentÖ.Itís something that us 5 wrote on the road. No studio. We recorded straight onto the computer, all ourselves. Itís us now, which is a little bit different. But Iím more proud of it than anything we put out in a long time. "
With From Indian Lakes having even more energy and emphasis live than on record and Lydia having a more upbeat atmosphere than normal, this show was definitely a memorable one. If you havenít seen Lydia since Devil came out, I highly recommend trying to catch them soon, as the songs carry over quite well to the live setting Ė sing-alongs, people. Iím sure seeing the duo with The Maine and Anberlin was fantastic, but I was quite happy to be able to catch the two on their last night out following that tour.
Today we're giving away two pairs of NoiseHush BT700 headphones. These bluetooth headphones are promised to provide "impressive comfort, and intuitive controls" all while "providing superior sound quality in wireless communication and music listening." I haven't had a chance to listen to music through them yet -- so I expect the contest winners to let me know how they sound. How do you win? Post in the replies and we'll pick two lucky winners from the thread in the next few days. Good luck.
Huge thank you to NoiseHush for sponsoring this contest. You can check the replies for some photos of the headphones, and find out more information about the company making them here, here, here,...
Last night at Manchester Orchestra's sold out NYC show, the band played a couple of new songs (one of which was "Cope." Both songs were very loud and very catchy.) Before one of them, Andy Hull announced to the crowd a cryptic and possibly sarcastic statement, which is paraphrased below.
We have a new record that's never going to come out. But if it did come out, this song would be on it.
Hopefully this is just Mr. Hull messing with us, but who knows. Either way, check out the band's tour dates for the rest of the year, and recordings of some of their new songs live, in the replies.
"She was in good condition. She said her conditions were OK," Verzilov said by phone. "She's not sick right now, sheís just having procedures and tests related to the hunger strike." Verzilov added that conditions at the hospital were satisfactory. Although the facility does treat tuberculosis, it functions as an ordinary hospital. The activist had been missing for 24 days, after she was abruptly moved from a camp in Mordovia, where she had been serving her sentence. She told Verzilov that during the time of her disappearance, she had been kept from...
On the 10 year anniversary (December 17th) of The Bled's debut full-length release, Pass The Flask, the album will be issued on vinyl for the first time ever by Staple Records and sold online exclusively through Hot Topic. The pressing will be on silver-colored vinyl and limited to just 500 copies.
Hmmm, more Brand New news to get riled up about: Tickets sold out for their discography shows insanely fast. So fast that tickets are now on StubHub for absolutely insane prices. They sold out four dates, two coasts, in maybe two-minutes total. They're also trending on Twitter; which will probably lead to a lot of very confused people.
We have received many emails in regards to the sticker being placed on the Brand New jackets instead of the outer sleeve. So many emails it is actually impossible for us to respond to these all so we are addressing publicly to reach out to you all. We completely understand and sympathize with all that this placement of the sticker is not ideal. However there are some huge misconceptions. We are NOT the manufacturer of this product. We are the retailer for this item just like Amazon and any other store. If you decide to remove this sticker it is GOING TO RUIN your jacket. We...
Joy Division original members Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris would like to lend their voice of support to Deborah and Natalie Curtis, who have been caused great distress over media reporting of the sale of the table originally owned by the family, and currently being auctioned on eBay. Deborah and Natalie would like to point out that the sale of this table has nothing whatsoever to do with them. The table was sold along with the house in 1980 and Natalie has never signed any authentication document. Furthermore, they consider the sale of a personal family item, and the subsequent media reporting, to be distasteful...
