According to this Craigslist ad, The Gaslight Anthem's new single will be the title track from Handwritten. The ad is a casting call for about nine actors to play different roles in a short film that will be edited into a music video for the song.
After posting about some vinyl preorders for The Gaslight Anthem's Handwritten and discovering a boatload of confusion about the preorder situation, I reached out to Infinite Merch to get some clarification. After I ordered the El Jefe preorder with the blue vinyl advertised (they note that they can't guarantee what color you'll get), they informed me that "The blue was put up because we were informed that the first pressing will be blue. That doesn't mean that our allotment in the second pressing won't be a color." They also confirmed that this is the official preorder from the band.
The Gaslight Anthem will perform on Live On Letterman on June 27 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. It will be a live webcast concert from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, available on CBS.com and VEVO. The band will play songs from their last three albums, as well as from their latest, Handwritten, which drops July 24 via Mercury Records.
Check out a "Making of Handwritten" video from The Gaslight Anthem, right over here, it has a few samples of three new songs in it ("Handwritten", "Here Comes My Man", and "Too Much Blood"), as well as an interview and behind the scenes look at the new album.
On May 16th, at 9pm EST, The Gaslight Anthem will be streaming their NY Show online. I feel like this trend (live show streaming over the internet) is really just starting, I think it just may have legs.
Over the years I've worked on this website, there are a handful of interviews that have really stood out to me. A handful that I sit back and think, "yeah, those I'm really proud of." When I finished typing up the interview with Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem -- I immediately re-read through it, and had that feeling of pride. It's an interview that talks about a variety of topics, from the band's new album and the lyrical themes and "punishing sound" throughout, to the recent Against Me! news and Brian's thoughts on a wide range of topics. It's an interview that I think gets a little deeper into the mind of one of today's great songwriters -- and I hope you enjoy reading it as...
I had the pleasure of interviewing Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem late last week. I'm in the midst of typing up the interview (transcribing is a pain in the ass), and I am planning on having it done and ready to publish tomorrow morning. But, since I've got a portion done now, I thought I'd toss up one of my favorite answers to tease the interview and get a little information out there for fans.
The Gaslight Anthem shot a music video for "45" at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park yesterday. Instead of just playing the single over and over again, it appears as though the band played a couple of extra songs in between six performances of "45" for the crowd. One fan told us, "I've never seen Brian happier and he talked about a bunch of stuff on stage including Jesse Lacey, Bruce Springsteen, Jawbreaker, @jadedpunkhulk and more. The band also added a third guitarist." Check out a video from the video shoot in the replies along with the setlist.

The Gaslight Anthemannounced their European tour dates and that their show on May 16th in Brooklyn will be live streamed to the internet. PS: Pitchfork, you worked Bruce into that opening paragraph twice -- seriously guys, we get it.
A UK webstore has The Gaslight Anthem's Handwritten up on their website with a July 23rd release date. My wedding anniversary, so, it's gotta be a sign or something. This would probably put it at July 24th in the states. Can't confirm any of the information yet, but we've reached out to see what information we can get.
