Toronto-based Cedar Boulevard have recently trekked across North America on tour and are now unveiling their "hard-hitting" self-titled EP. Already critically acclaimed and drawing comparisons to You, Me and Everyone We Know, My Chemical Romance and early era-A Day To Remember crossed with Pierce The Veil instrumentals this is a pop-punk band for those who like theirs to have a real bite. Founded after two members left their lives in Australia to put their all into their music, this is a band who cares passionately about their craft and are ready to cement themselves in the scene. Listen to their brand new self-titled EP, which was released just this week, in the replies.
Head North will release a new EP called Bloodlines on March 24th via Bad Timing Records. We are premiering the first single called "The Planet." The song has a lot of elements that remind me of what I love about bands like Have Mercy. The vocals start off in the spotlight, with only a pallid drumbeat and distant bass, before the chorus lets frontman Brent Martone let his emotion loose - both vocally and lyrically. Fans of Have Mercy's The Earth Pushed Back should really enjoy this one, as it makes it pretty clear why they're on the road together. Give it a listen in the replies to see what I mean, where you'll also find tour dates. If you like what you hear, I'm confident you'll enjoy...
Bayside have posted a new blog post in response to their video yesterday. This is really great to see and a positive step in the right direction. I hope more bands step up and do something similar. The full thing is in the replies.
I have seen some interesting and poignant comments about past Bayside lyrics being violent and misogynistic. I'm not going to deny it. I have always written songs from the top of my head. I write journals and then I turn them into lyrics. Literally. I wrote some songs when I was younger in which I was venting and at the time, it was a cathartic experience to get the crazy thoughts out. A lot of people do this in their heads and in private journals and my...
