Hit the replies to see Midtown perform "Just Rock and Roll" at this past weekend's Skate and Surf Festival. It was the band's final song of their set -- I hope it's not the last time we see them play together.
In an interview with Listener magazine published the year of his death, California said he felt "Stairway to Heaven" was a "rip-off." "The guys made millions of bucks on it and never said 'Thank you,' never said, 'Can we pay you some money for it?'" he said. "It's kind of a sore point with me. Maybe someday their conscience will make them do something about it."
This Wild Life will be appearing on The Bachelorette to perform "Roots And Branches." The show will air on May 26th at 9:30 pm. The only question is if Kevin will be too cool to post on this website after his newfound fame?
The party animal in me loved it but it had already started to take a toll on my body after several months. I couldn’t believe how far Deryck could go, though. I couldn’t get myself to walk from the bus to the venue some days, and here this guy was playing shows every single night for an hour or more, sweating, running around like a maniac, and killing a bottle of whiskey. It was insanity.
Every Time I Die's new album is up for pre-order on iTunes (regular and deluxe versions) and comes with with an instant download of "Thrist." The deluxe version of the album contains two bonus tracks: "Cheap Ludes" and "Saturnalia."
Before you read these lists, a few things should be clarified. First of all, they aren't perfect: a few acts are out of place, or suspiciously off -- we'll try to address these below. You'll also notice that there are a few anomalies, and acts that aren't music-related (ie. Myth Busters, who you can rent for a mere $100k); Degy books speakers and corporate entertainment acts too, and a few slipped into these listings. Lastly, keep in mind that these lists aren't comprehensive and only contain artists booked through Degy.
Following the controversy that surrounded the costume Macklemore wore at a recent surprise show, the rapper has posted an apology and explanation over on his website.
My intention was to dress up and surprise the people at the show with a random costume and nothing more. Thus, it was surprising and disappointing that the images of a disguise were sensationalized leading to the immediate assertion that my costume was anti-Semetic. I acknowledge how the costume could, within a context of stereotyping, be ascribed to a Jewish caricature. I am here to say that it was absolutely not my intention, and unfortunately at the time I did not foresee the costume to be viewed in such regard....

Last Friday I sat in a courtroom to support a friend. For the better part of a decade our professional and personal lives were woven in a relationship akin to family. As if family, the intention of my attendance was to publicly acknowledge the deep care and compassion I hold for this individual.

Every year, 8 billion chickens are orphaned, stuffed into severely crowded sheds, and trucked to slaughter. "Someday," a new video created by PETA and animated by Anna Saunders, is scheduled to be featured on rock icon Morrissey's nationwide tour. The video takes viewers on a harrowing journey as they witness—through the eyes of one terrified bird—the typical experience of chickens raised for meat. Will our young chick survive what 8 billion chickens each year cannot?
