"It’s kind of funny releasing a single when you have 11 songs on an album because everyone is trying to make guesses on what the album is going to be like. That song is cool, but I think the album is so packed, in my opinion there’s at least five other songs that top that one. I think we could have released any song off the album and it couldn’t have gone wrong, it’s such a seamless album. We’re kind of branching out from the simplicity of the last album a bit. The sound, the quality, and what we put into it is just very crisp and on point. I think we...

Obviously when I was getting high and fucked up, I tended to talk a lot more shit and stuff. And now that I'm not using drugs, it's just not as fun, you know? It took all the life out of it, being rude and all that shit. I kind of have a new found respect for people have that have stuck around...and even ones that have talked shit,...

Slayer have issued a statement regarding drummer Dave Lombardo's recent claims. Jon Dette is filling in on the band's current Australian tour.

As regards Dave Lombardo‘s Facebook post, Slayer does not agree with Mr. Lombardo‘s substance or the timeline of the events, except to acknowledge that Mr. Lombardo came to the band less than a week before their scheduled departure for Australia to present an entirely new set of terms for his engagement that were contrary to those that had been previously agreed upon.
The band was unable to reach an agreement on these...
"I think there's a lot of metaphors in [the video] that you could draw with us and the past year we've had, but it's a video that I hope will make people feel very different the next time they go to the airport and give their bag away," guitarist Jack Antonoff said. "It's a very serious video that, on paper, might seem a little tongue in cheek, but at least the way it's written, it's meant to be pretty deep. "And I think that's OK, it's exciting and it's valuable for the fans of the music to know that, that it's not just this giant dream sequence," he continued. "There's a level of sacrifice that...

It's like this curse as a musician where you can sometimes second-guess yourself. With this album I was like, 'Let's just write this record and see what happens.' I think as scatterbrained and overpopulated as the world is right now, it just needs honesty and I wanted the music to be fresh and honest even if the music isn't some crazy, avant-garde thing.
