Alpha & Omega are currently recording their Bridge Nine Records debut in Los Angeles, CA from now through March 14th with producer Chad Gilbert of NFG and engineer Kyle Black.
A&O vocalist Luis Hernandez said they are working on ten new songs and going about recording them " in a new way, taking it one day at a time. We're recording guitar, bass and vocals for a different song every day and making sure each song gets the right amount of attention." He continued, "I can't wait for people to hear these new songs. I love our past two records but these songs have something different about them. The writing and recording processes are so different from what we are used to and have...

Today I am giving away a pretty sweet ticket package to see Erik Griffin's record release show at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles on March 11th. The winner of this contest will receive 2 tickets to the show, VIP access to hang out before and meet Erik, and a signed copy of Erik's new album, Technical Foul: Volume One. "How do I win this super awesome contest, Drew?" is probably what you're thinking right now. It's fairly easy - just post your favorite Montez gif from the show Workaholics and I'll pick the best one tomorrow. Good luck!

We have another great exclusive on the site today, as we're streaming a brand new song from Philadelphia punk band, Restorations. The song is "Quit," and it's a chunky, slow-burn type of song that shows off Jon Loudon's deep vocals. It's off the band's upcoming Side One Dummy debut, LP2. You can stream the song over at the band's AP.net profile or in the replies. I have a feeling that if you really dug the vibes of The Menzingers in 2012, then you'll really enjoy this band and album. All sorts of numbers for all of us chart geeks today. Bruno Mars has climbed to the top of the charts this week, moving 95,000 copies of his latest album (bringing his total about 40k short of going platinum). Atoms for Peace come in at number two selling 50k copies of Amok. Mumford and Sons round out the top three with another 43,000 copies of Babel, which has now passed the 2 million mark. Overall album sales in this week totaled 5.79 million units, up 6% compared with the sum last week and down 9% compared with the comparable sales week of 2012 (6.33 million). Year to date album sales stand at 50.36 million, down 7% compared to the same total at this point last year. All the other...

Heroes For Hire vocalist Brad Smith has left the band. Guitarist Duane Hazell is stepping up as frontman. A lengthy statement from Hazell can be found below.
This will be the first and last thing I am going to say about everything that's going on right now regarding Heroes For Hire. To everyone saying that there are no original members left in Heroes For Hire and that we are just using the band name to promote a completely new band: I can't even remember how many years ago it was exactly that I joined Heroes For Hire, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was about 5 or 6 years ago. Before I officially joined, I was filling in on bass guitar at a few small local shows due to their...

Rise is great. I mean, we've had them do more for us in the one year we've been signed to them than the other labels have done in the other 6 years we've been signed. They're really personable, they're literally a phone call away, as opposed to going through all these different channels just to talk to your own record label. They treat us like human beings, you know?
