Jack O'Shea of Bayside has undergone spinal surgery to fix a developing injury from performing. We send our thoughts and prayers to him for a healthy recovery.
So 11 years of headbanging and playing 11lbs plus Les Paul's had led me to spine surgery. A month ago I lost most of the use of my right arm and powered through a tour in Europe. I got home and decided to see a specialist to make sure my physical therapy was correct and was rushed into surgery. I had a 3 level fusion in my cervical spine and should hopefully get most if not all of my right arm back but it's right into intense physical therapy starting next week. Also my nurse is terrible at installing IV's.

Morning Parade have broke up.
Today is our time to come clean and reveal that with great thought and heavy sadness, we as 5 individuals have decided to call time on our journey as Morning Parade.

This is not down to musical differences, nor is it down to interpersonal relationships or band disagreements. It comes down to the simple reality that at this current point, for us to continue any further would be to do so at the detriment of our friendship, our personal, emotional, mental and financial well being, as well our enjoyment of music and memories of our time as Morning Parade.

Morning Parade has given us some of our greatest memories, dream like experiences, hysterical laughter,...

This week we're back with another AbsolutePlaylist from one of my favorite bands, P.O.D. You might recognize their early radio hits, such as "Youth of The Nation", "Alive", and "Boom", as well as placement in numerous films. They've also collaborated with variety of artists like Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies, and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. Head to the replies to check out the playlist. The band's new acoustic album, SoCal Sessions, is out now.

I recently sat down with Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory, in which we spoke about one of his favorite bands, Madball. We talk about his first experiences with the band, the possibility of new music from Hazen St., and more. You can check it out here.
The first time I saw them live, I actually opened for them. It was Shai Hulud, this local band Brethren, and Madball at Cheers in Miami, around 96'-97'. It was really crazy, the crowd was insane.

We've just published a new episode of the AP.net Podcast, but we're already looking ahead to the next couple weeks of episodes as well. In one of the episodes before our year-ending AOTY discussion, we want to field a lot of AP.net readers' questions -- they don't have to be big-picture or long-form type topics, but really any sort of questions you guys have about the website, music, the industry, etc. Hell, we spent 15 minutes talking about Star Wars in this week's episode, so you don't even really have to restrict it to music. Feel free to leave questions in the replies and Jason, Drew and I will tackle them over the next episode or two!
Thomas Nassiff on 12/04/14 - 02:17 PM
Star Wars, vinyl, and the music industry? Yeah, we've got all that on this week's episode of the AbsolutePunk Podcast. Topics include: The new Star Wars trailer! What do we think? What are we excited about? Why am I so afraid of being burned again!? Then we move into a topic near and dear to all of our hearts: vinyl records and our collections. We answer a fan submitted question about turntables, our buying habits, and why we like the medium. We finish the week off with a talk about the entire Pomplamoose situation and everything that's been swirling around that topic. I mean, everyone else has beaten the moose to death -- we might as well chime in. The episode can be streamed and/or...

Bring Me The Horizon (alongside former guitarist Curtis Ward) performed "Pray For Plagues" last night at a 500-cap show at the Camden Underworld in London, which you can view in the replies. Lil Wayne has taken to twitter to announce yet another delay of Tha Carter V. This time though, he lays the blame squarely at the feet of his label and long time mentor/benefactor Birdman, claiming he and his creativity are prisoners. Pusha T (in a Suge Knight voice) chimed in telling Wayne to move to G.O.O.D. Music if he "wants to drop albums & don't want ur CEO rubbing they hands all in your videos."
Ryan Dennehy on 12/04/14 - 01:35 PM
Weezer bounced through Austin on Tuesday December 2nd to play a not-surprisingly sold out show for local radio station 101X's holiday party. The band took the stage a tore through a stacked set in just an hour and a half. While Rivers Cuomo wasn't the most enthused version of himself, fans went away happy, especially those who had picked up and fallen in love with the band's newest album Everything Will Be Alright in The End. Take a peek at a few photos from the show in the comments, as well as a link to a full gallery.
