Dashboard Confessional are currently zigzagging the states on a seemingly mismatched co-headlining tour with Third Eye Blind. Consistently at each stop, Dashboard has been said to steal the show, and the tour’s stop in Austin was no exception.

Head over to Noisey to check out Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional's take on some of the "emo revival" bands.
This song made my hair stand straight up (I am aware that it grows that way anyhow). "The Scope of All of This Rebuilding" is a harmony and eventually gang vocal masterpiece of power, which in moments drops down to just one singer and becomes compelling in a new way. I had a visceral reaction to this song. It's undeniable. I remember when I heard Saves the Day’s Can’t Slow Down, and I was like, well, I'm going to start this over and I'm going to listen again and again. It's that feeling. The structure of this one is inside out. I like that a lot. Like, when there's all...

Chris Carrabba wrote this year's American Idol coronation song.
“It’s just too good to be true,” Carrabba tells Billboard. “He found a way to make it instantly his own song. What more can you want as a songwriter? That is what you do. You write these songs with your heart invested in it and as an expression of who you are and hope to be. It just speaks volumes to his talent.

Julie Beck, writing for The Atlantic, about Dashboard Confessional:
In my high school bubble, it was cool, or at least unobjectionable, for Dashboard to be my favorite band. When I got to college, it became quickly apparent that this was something to hide. Emo was narcissistic, whiny, embarrassing. To be referenced ironically or, preferably, not at all. Emotion wasn’t cool. You know what was cool? Pretention.

We all know Taylor Swift and Hayley Williams are the best, there's no hiding that. They both have a mutual friend Abigail, who is a huge Dashboard Confessional fan, who just so happened to turn 25. What did the two do for her birthday? Just invite Chris Carrabba to play at her intimate party. You can watch the videos to witness how awesome it is.

Chris Carrabba is bringing back Dashboard Confessional.
As we slowly bring dc back I find myself listening to 'hell on the throat' and realize how much of those lyrics what dc began to feel like. After time away I couldn't be more excited about today's show and dc's future, whatever that may be.

During the interview, Carrabba opened up about his long-held aspiration to pursue folk music, the slow and steady formation of the new band, an upcoming tour with Augustana, his current feelings about his other musical projects, his opinions on the modern mainstream folk resurgence, and his friendship with Butch Walker. Twin Falls, the new project of Chris Carrabba and Suzie Zeldin, is changing its name to Twin Forks following a short-lived controversy over the moniker. A mere couple days ago, we reported that a UK artist who calls himself Twin Falls claimed that the new superband stole his identity. Okay. Way to be a good sport, Carrabba and Co. The band has also released a new song, which you can check out in the replies along with a statement from, um, Twin Forks. Now the only boring name-change whining we have to keep track of is The Story So Far v. The Story So Far.
