Dee Barnes has written an essay for Gawker titled "Here's What's Missing From Straight Outta Compton: Me and the Other Women Dr. Dre Beat Up," detailing her experience being assaulted at the hands of Dr. Dre and her reaction to the new N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, which ignores Dre's violence towards women entirely. One of the most disturbing pieces of information is that the Compton director F. Gary Gray was the cameraman filming the interview between Barnes and Ice Cube that led to her assault. Dr. Dre has announced his first album in 16 years, titled Compton A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre. It's releasing through Aftermath/Interscope and available exclusively on Apple Music this Friday (Aug. 7th). The new album will feature Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and others.

Vince Staples released two great projects last year (the Shyne Coldchain 2 mixtape and Hell Can Wait EP) and now he's readying his debut album for Def Jam later this year by releasing the first single from the LP. It's called "SeŮorita" and features a very prominent sample of Future's "Covered N Money" and is available to purchase on iTunes and to stream on YouTube or in the replies.
Miguel has released an updated version of his 2014 single "Coffee." The new version is extended by a couple of minutes and inexplicably features Wale in 2015, and is retitled "Coffee (Fucking)." Thankfully, there is also an extended version that does not feature Wale, and you can stream both in the replies and decide which is better for yourself. Miguel's new album is tentatively titled Wild Heart, and has yet to be given a release date.
